I am an adult woman who has seen, played, and read so many stories but you written Lila so well she on my 10 top villain list of all time. I hate her so much, you have done a great job. Also what is up with Alix causing Marinette so many problems no matter what timeline she is from. (Honestly this update was wayyyy earlier than I was expecting it was such a nice surprise) I’m so glad that Lila’s tower of lies is falling down on her… I do get how Nathaniel feels honestly I hate when people talk major shi behind peoples back but it’s also hard to tell when people are venting about someone who was mean to them and people who are talking shi especially when the people talking are your friends… it makes it hard to speak up I’m so proud of bro

Nathaniel’s a good egg 🥚 He and Alix are like besties I think they’ll talk it out. Also WOW. Lila managed to talk shit about Marinette AND make herself seem like the victim all in the same breathe. Also also GOOD to see Markov! I didn’t even realize I missed him.

God this update made me sick to my stomach. And I mean that in the best way possible. Lila is absolutely disgusting, and you write her manipulations so much more realistically than the show’s garbage. She knows exactly what to say to paint herself as the victim, and you definitely made it realistic how she turned the class against Marinette to varying degrees. It’s gut wrenching. But at the same time, there are glimmers of hope! We have Max not taking any of Lila’s shit, we have Nathaniel putting the pieces together, and we have Alix, who may have bought the stuff about Marinette, but who is also Nathaniel’s ride-or-die, and who’ll put his emotional needs first every time. That one is especially gratifying; while I totally see and like the way you write Bunnyx, Alix is a character who I’ve always had a special fondness towards, so I’m really happy to see her start to shake of Lila’s influence, even if she still hasn’t done so with regards to Marinette. That will hopefully come when she talks to Nathaniel! And of course Markov seeing it all! God, it is going to be so satisfying when Lady Clarity brings the whole Jenga tower collapsing to the ground in another couple updates. Fantastic job as always!

How wonderfully written. I love the juxtaposition between Lila‘s presentation of Marinette and Nathaniel’s actual memories of her. Not only in terms of the content presented, but in the colors themselves. Lila‘s rant is darkly toned and turns the entire atmosphere in to a gloomy shade, whereas the memories of Marinette are but a simple grey. No bending of the light, no distortion of the truth. It’s such a great way of displaying Nathaniel’s mental state and why he ultimately chooses to decide with Marinette. My only question is regarding the outline imagery. I’m pretty sure it’s wheat stalks, but I’m not sure. Regardless, amazing update! Thank you so much you really did make my night!

The way she backtracks so smoothly on lies that don’t land is terrible I love it 😭 And true I don’t like Alix nearly as much as I expected I usually love her (them? Not sure their pronouns in this au) Tho it does make sense a little bit bc if even her (former) best friend (Alya) believes the bs it would be almost abnormal if someone nowhere near as close didn’t (even if Marinette was so nice to all of them) I do feel like alix will get with the program once nath gets her up to speed (hopefully idk if the scarlet lady au has warped my memory but I liked her in Miraculous)

Just realized… why tf would you tell your friend to volunteer at a hospital their “bully” is hospitalized at???? Like I personally KNOW Lila is lying about Marinette bullying her and all but alix seems to believe her… why would you ask your friend to put themselves in a position to be around their bully by choice?

To be fair Alix would probably figure Marinette would check out soon (she doesn’t know anything about her condition) and that Lila could just choose to NOT be helpless and avoid her on her own. It was Lila who decided to make a big deal about it. Hospitals are big and I would assume my friends were competent enough to either avoid or not go to a place their bully is at.

It's all so natural and really makes your stomach turn with Lila's manipulated words. You know, a thought occurred to me last night. This might be a bit of a deep cut these days, but anyone remember xxxHolic? The manga from Clamp about a shop that grants wishes (such a deeply reductive summary, but it's enough for the purpose of this comment)? The reason I bring it up is because the first real "arc" involves a woman coming into the shop because her right pinky has gotten stiff, and being given a ring to ward it off. But the problem keeps getting worse and worse. Well, as it turns out, the woman is a compulsive liar, and the effects on her pinky are a result of the miasma of her lies coiling around her, starting with her pinky (i.e. what you use for a pinky promise, a sign of sincerity) and slowly escalating to consume her entire body. Meanwhile, the ring gets more and more worn-out as she lies and lies until finally, she takes it off and is completely paralyzed. And unfortunately, she happens to be standing in a crosswalk as she does... Anyway, point of the post is that God I kinda wish Lady Clarity's powers worked by manifesting lies as miasma like that, just because it would be such a cool image. Also, having the lies be represented as smoke in the regular scenes would've been cool, just her eyes and smile shining through the cloud of sludge...sorry, rambling. Honestly, this was more about bringing up the reference than it was an actual comment on the content or critique about the direction, so sorry about that! 😅

Really like the attention to each of the personalities of the kids, as opposed to canon which made them sort of a hive mind regarding Lila. Alix and Kim are athletes and have had their fair share of hospital visits + They know Marinette is tough and a boxer, so they aren’t as worried about her. Nathaniel on the other hand is an artist and not athletic, so he is far more empathetic especially given her fixing the tutus under such a deadline. They all want to be good people but sometimes perspective can blind you to certain things and make you more attentive of others.

Rereading this update is kinda like listening to music in the way I catch new things every time that make me like it more?!? Like Kim at the end saying “we wouldn’t want anyone to think you were a criminal “ lol Lila doing MAJOR damage control Also I hope nath’s previous crush on Marinette won’t affect his(?) relationship with Marc.. with how pushy Kim is and how much damage control Lila is doing I bet she’ll say nath defended Mari because of his crush and Kim will back her up knowing he said he didn’t and not believing that… I just hope their relationship is strong enough to withstand that.. ( and I hope nath comes out soon when he’s ready ) Btw are Juleka and Rose out in this au yet??? Bc I don’t really remember when they were introduced as a couple in the show bc I remember them always being lesbians ( unless they bi lol no bi erasure in this household) and I remember this au begins right after chat blanc and I don’t think the show ever confirmed their relationship outright (just HEAVILY implied it)
