What’s a good AC game to start as a beginner? I’ve never played any from the series.

Blitzkrieg

Jackson Oiled up Nike Pros live ultra 4K 240FPS

catb23

the official podcast

John Schmidt

3 has a great story but janky gameplay, best for story and gameplay would be black flag

CaptainObvs3420

the problem with AC is that back in the day at least the stories and characters were good, these days they can't even do that properly

Ian

I remember playing on my couch as a young lad. Playing the newer game at the time that came out few years ago, we couldn't afford it new at the time (I was lucky we even got the ps3 in the frist place) Assassin's creed lV black flag. Play that instead of whatever coming out these days. New don't mean better.

Chris

I'd personally say start with assassin's creed 1 to see if you like the premise/story, then 2 will hook you/is the best one in the entire franchise. If you only have a console then get the ezio collection. That trilogy is the peak of assassin's creed and nothing has touched it since AC4

AltitudeF4

As one of the few that love ac oddessy I disagree

LR INT Kid Buu

Finally someone who thinks odyssey is good.

rn

notice me Jackson

LR INT Kid Buu

I would start with AC2, AC1 is really fucking boring. If you really want to after you beat AC2 you can go back

Anthony

I know Charlie hates nintendo more than anyone else, but ubisoft has always been my most hated game dev by a significant margin. As soon as I see a new game was made by ubisoft I immediately get soft

Uva

Oil up jackson. Be there in 10.

izZzlefishy

AC Odyssey is actually the AC game I've put the most hours into tbh but I also have a soft spot for ancient greece

Unknown Jpeg

I’m going to touch you Jackson

Bozleon

I’m going to touch you Jackson

Hanni

Ubisoft games are like junk food, they’re fun to jump into for a bit and dick around, and each year you just get a different pretty setting to do it in

jonny br

was fiending for a new episode ngl i hate not listening to the most recent ones

jonny br

im going to touch you jackson

Matt Holt

I'm going to touch you Jackson

BusterSwamp

Episode 400 is gonna be the last one

Dilkdud

Yeah theres only a few old ones ill go back to. Like bonus 29 empty buildings, bonus 38 fart domination, or the lewis spears episode.

Thomas Scudder

Was just rewatching the p diddy red thread and new episode dropped. Always a treat

Trash_Bread

Lol fun ubisoft games? Where

Trash_Bread

Why do you people think repeating the same thing is funny lol

Goofy82694

Why do people think repeating the same thing is funny lol

Hanni

They exist if you are capable of forming an opinion of your own. Believe it or not.

Bwoods

I’m going through a shitty time rn. Thanks for helping me escape for an hour. Appreciate you guys.

Tallon

It's just a laser whip man, why is this so hard. It's not even new, Githany had one.

Anthony

Trash_Bread I had the same thought man lol

Alex Bryda

Your voices are frickin glorious

Grelk

i wish i could enjoy slop, life must be easy for you

Hanni

It’s true. Ever since I booted up a Ubisoft game my life has never been easier. I no longer stress over which artistic masterpiece to play in the evening anymore. Life is good.

R

Can we get timestamps on episodes please, on Spotify but not for the people who pay?

Austino

Hope you have a good rest of your day :)

Dreezy

Gameplay wise sure repeat bosses is boring but there is lore reason as to why their there and why there’s multiple

Copycat

Star Wars Episode 3 and Rouge One are genuinely good movies I know you guys will never agree but it needs to be said. They definitely flawed, but still a good movies completely disagree that those 2 are "Bad", all the other new ones are but those 2 have something there. I'd give Episode 3 like a 7/10, and then Rouge One like a 7.5, not like they are masterpieces but they are good imo. Upon thinking about it I know why I liked Rouge One so much more then most of the Star Wars franchise. It's literally just a war story in a slightly more goofy Sci fi environment, personally never been a huge fan of war story movies as I usually just find them to be sad and ruin my mood. But when it's a war story about goofy star wars characters sacrificing themselves for the good of the universe I find it enjoyable.

Squegy

Im so excited when there is another new assassin's creed game we'll get to hear them bitch about it for the fifth year in a row

12TrillionIQ

I can't believe what a redditor Kaya is now, this man made a Rick and Morty reference out of nowhere with no bearing to the conversation at all, his brains been rotted by too much schezuan sauce

Fueled By Fart Porn

I heard that it only takes two seconds to be killed or seriously injured if in the general area of deadly Kaya fart.

cas.ko

I really enjoyed rogue one and I feel like it could've had as good writing as andor if it wasn't handicapped by being in the same production line as the sequel trilogy and needing to target the family friendly demographic

Jacob Knarr

I love AC. Gameplay could be better and less clunky at times but I love the beautiful open world. Haven't played one since Odyssey but I'll be playing the new one.

Ryan Smith

You’re the problem.

Reisalheim

The Thanos argument about the resources is quite literally the dumbest shit. My mind immediately went to the people who think they found a plot hole for lord of the rings and they say "why don't the eagles just fly them there". That doesn't make a good story. Hey the flew there it's done. And also in lord of the rings it's also supposed to be a secret journey

dollargeneraljesus

i got family in prison, and those dudes who pulled the guy off the pedophile either didnt know or were his friends, because even guards will take their time when trying to get people off a pedo lmao

Kaltes Bild

In Jackson’s defense, I fucking loooooved Bullet Train and don’t remember the name of a single character in that lol.

Jacob Knarr

Imagine caring what other people play

Cronus maximus

Revenge of the Sith is the best Star Wars movie and an actually good movie if anyone disagrees it’s treason then.

droog93

I 100% understand where Jackson is coming from with the setting of assassin's creed games. Recently I played through unity & it was crazy how lifelike and real France felt, & it made me want to learn more about that time period in history

Thoams Wyatt

Nah that’s actually a perfectly reasonable question however it is established that creatures of magic like the eagles are more susceptible to the rings corruption then even mortals are if this wasn’t established then it absolutely would be a plot hole

Thoams Wyatt

Not every person is going to have a Reddit approved opinion on a game series I know you don’t like assassins creed but there are some people who don’t just parrot Reddit and actually play the games

Jörundur Trausatson

I can't understand why people idolize a man that was dragged around like a pet by the powerful in Japan just to be thrown into war surrender immediately and do it all again. Yusuke is a cool historical figure and actually can use him to show how horrible the treatment of foreigners was in feudal Japan but to make him the main character is just a waste

Not_Isaiah

The they always nail the setting for AC. Mirage was an insane recreation of Baghdad. It’s a shame it has some of the worst parkour and combat in the entire franchise.

Grelk

Reddit is retarded. Not everyone who has a differing opinion than you is part of some collective “other”

Thoams Wyatt

Actually it sounds like for a foreigner he was treated extremely well

Thoams Wyatt

Ubisoft was so obsessed with historical accuracy that if your like me and religiously 100% assassin creed 2 a bunch of times you can find your way around Venice IRL as the game map is based on real historical maps of Venice

RinBburner

Isn’t there like a lightsaber that’s a long sword in Jedi survivor ?

SpectreMk2

Jackson is right. Odyssey was amazing and despite not playing anything since the presentation of AC is its biggest appeal. Yakuza and Ghost of tsushima don't offer the same immersion and freedom with its presentation. Climbing the tallest building in any AC is unique. None of the recommendations that Andrew talks about replicates that. Climbing Buckingham Palace despite me hating syndicate it was very beautiful.

SpectreMk2

You're not entitled to a good assassin creed game. Stop being emotionally invested in a series that is dead and doesn't resemble what it was. Move on with your life and let the series go. There is nothing wrong with anyone enjoying what the series is today because you're clearly not the audience. If they like eating the assassin creed slop they have every right to at their own discretion

Jacob Knarr

Emotionally invested is a little strong I haven't played one in like 4 years. Valhalla was horrible. I would just like to see them make an enjoyable game again.

Brz12311

The StarWars podcast episode #390

Maltex

If any of you heed Jackson’s advice and choose to watch Joseph Andersons Elden Ring video, I urge you to take it with a grain of salt and watch LupineOS’ video “What Joseph Anderson Got Wrong About Elden Ring”. As a huge FromSoft fan I would say this video has a much better understanding of the games mechanics.

awesome pumpkin

Motherfuckers let fucking Jackson enjoy something christ

Paragon-VI

Thanos has the power of God literally at his fingertips, he could've done anything. He could've made infinite resources, I don't think it's a plot hole so much as just, Thanos is genocidal. Even with the power of God, his plan was still genocide, his goal isn't salvation, it was always just genocide

Paragon-VI

This. Joseph is kinda just bad at the game and then elaborately tries to explain why it's the games fault and not well designed

Paragon-VI

Wow, an Assassin's creed defender... How does it feel to be playing the exact same game since Origins?

Paragon-VI

I feel like making a map realistic isn't really "historically accurate" as much as a very basic thing if you're going for realism. I don't remember the Pope being a wizard in real life history tho

Paragon-VI

Like Thomas here said, the difference between a plot hole and not a plot hole is literally just a single throw away line, "the eagles are more susceptible to the ring" or "killing half the universe is the least harmful way to do it" and now, boom, no plot hole cause you explained why the alternative wouldnt work. It doesn't even need to make a whole lot of sense, or any, as long as the characters themselves actually believe it

Paragon-VI

So much weird cope here. Make a good game, just that simple. I certainly am entitled to a good assassins creed game, if they're asking me to spend money on it. You're the kind of gamer cuck that allows the industry to charge 70$ for garbage cause you'll still buy it and tell anyone who calls it out for being shit "go play another game if you don't like this one"

Paragon-VI

"lore reasons" is just a way to reuse bosses so they have to put less effort into the game. There could just as easily be a "lore reason" as to why all the bodes are extremely different and unique, don't try to defend this shit.

Paragon-VI

And those people also think it's bad lmao

Paragon-VI

Of course you don't stress over which game to play, they haven't had a new idea in about 10 years, so all their games are the same. It doesn't matter what you choose.

Dreezy

So you think there was Loretta in both the haligtree and a Loretta specter in the carian manor bc they were lazy? Or the god skins, I just took a quick glance over all the optional bosses that were reused and for pretty much all of them I can see a reason why their there or at least they crafted a story to why said enemy appears where they do. If they just through shit at the wall just because then Sure it’d be lazy, but they give reason to almost everything

Paragon-VI

The end of Across The Spider verse pissed me off so fucking much, quite literally ruined the entire movie for me, hates it cause of that, and it made me forget about it cause I don't give a fuck about a story with no ending

SpectreMk2

I only played odyssey which was good. It was the first and last game I played since assassin's creed syndicate. I didn't play orgins.

Harry Crossman

I think my problem with the whole Thanos thing is that world population currently is 8 billion, we hit 4 billion in 1974 so Thanos used the godlike strongest power in the universe to set population back 50 years which isn't really that long

bobbyD

my GPU is an across the spiderverse 4070ti. great gpu, annoying ending tho lmao
