if I recall my government class from 4 years ago correctly, the federal government has limited jurisdiction over crimes that states would normally handle, but they have full jurisdiction over crimes that cross state lines (including commerce). so for the FBI to specifically go after this dude they had to throw in the interstate commerce charge to keep it in their jurisdiction and not the state he committed the crime in, so I'm assuming he mailed stuff over state lines of the decoy was in a different state than him. or maybe back then anything over the Internet was automatically interstate because the law didn't define it? idk just a fun fact for the australian

I think the reason Discord blocks parents from seeing the content of their children's messages is because many abusive parents obsessively read their children's messages and use it against them or punish them.
