Interesting he mentioned people here are nicer, I’ve had a different experience for sure. Harder to make connections and new friends here, people love to keep to themselves. Ballard is chill as fuck, so is Montlake, Fremont and the whole of West Seattle. Even South Lake Union is pretty clean. You really don’t see very many homeless in any of those areas. But Capitol Hill and Downtown, man it’s filthy

Andrew - wanted to say thank you for saying what you said about Florida. I have lived in Miami-Dade and Broward county for 30+ years and I hate it here. The people here are the worst for all the reasons you described. I started working remotely for a company in Chicago and I was blown away at how nice everyone is. It made me realize I need to GTFO. Florida is 100% the problem. I am leaving for Colorado this year. Screw this state and all of the career criminals in it.

I can think of 2 ppl that lived in Japan and moved back. 1 within a year. It is great to visit if you have the time and money (apparently) but living there is a clusterfuck and they are way stricter with expectations.

Arizona’s the same way - at least the Phoenix area. Moved here from Chicago about 2 years ago and honestly hate it., everyone is so rude and about themselves, honestly having a hard time even just making friends out here. The nature is beautiful though, can’t argue that.

I considered moving to Nevada at one point because I liked the vibe. Not necessarily Vegas, but an area called Henderson it was nice. I just wasn't thrilled with the lack of resiliency of the local economy. If possible maybe you can give Colorado a shot. I was blown away at how nice the folks are out there and the natural beauty is something else. I hope you find peace.

Colorado’s a great state from when I’ve been, unfortunately relocating isn’t really an option for the foreseeable future for me so I’ll have to stick it out here as best I can. And obviously not everyone is rude out here, I suppose I’m still just used to the Midwest way of things of everyone wanting to chat with everyone all the time. Good luck to you on your move!

Thegamingpro22 - you talking about Florida or a different state? Either way I feel you man. My parents moved me to South Florida when I was 9. Just driving into North Miami Beach it felt off. I, like you, have a mother here and will probably need to return to visit her. I'll make sure to visit friends while I am in the area too.

I also just got back from a trip to Japan a couple weeks b fore you left. Completely agree that it's the best country to visit having visited quite a lot. Everyone that goes has the same reaction pretty much! Already planning a trip back
