This ending was absolutely insane! I really enjoyed this show so much, a breath of fresh air for sure. Won't talk too much here in case people have not seen this but this show will be hard to top!

We will be back next week with my boy Bucky and SAM in Falcon and WS! Super hyped for that and lets see what cosplay I can come up with..

The Scarlet Witch is part of my favorite storylines in Marvel Comics, and definitely one of my favorite characters. I loved how powerful yet unhinged she was. When she first joined the MCU, I felt she was shortchanged/sidelined for most of her appearances. This show definitely fixed that and gave me most of what I wanted (I’m greedy, I wanted even more 🤪). This last episode is named “THE SERIES FINALE”, so it’s safe to say there will be no season 2 and Wanda will just have to be a boss in the movies again (which I’m okay with 🤷🏻‍♂️😌). ***Also considering she’s trying to learn more about her magic from the Darkhold (post-credits) and it was mentioned that her magic “exceeds that of the Sorcerer Supreme”…👀 well I think it’s safe to say we will be dealing with an OP Wanda going forward in the MCU.

So, to answer some questions; Monica got powers after being rewritten 3 times by Wanda's powers. By the third time, she managed to push through without losing her sense of self, but still got rewrote to be a super-powered. Whether she managed to do this because she's just so strong, because she had already gone through multiple times, or just because she's just so strong-willed or perhaps has some speciality to her, we don't really know. In the end scene, we see Wanda living alone in a cabin, but in the back, her astral form is there studying the Darkhold (The Book of The Damned that Agatha had). Remember when Doctor Strange was studying in Kamar Taj? While his physical body slept, he stayed conscious in his astral form and used it to study. Evidently, Wanda is so powerful that she can study in her astral form even while her physical body is still up doing things. And as she's studying the Darkhold, she hears a sudden cry from her dead and erased children... Which is a mystery! That will likely lead into later MCU shows or movies.

This little pause would be a great time to kick back and rewatch Age of Ultron. Having just experienced 9 episodes of Wanda and Vision development, it pushes AoU to a new level. As much as I loved both their characters in AoU, after WandaVision, I felt a far deeper connection to everything that happened to them in that movie.

I should add that some of your confusion was avoided by us that watched the series as it came out. The down days between episodes allowed us to do research into what had been revealed as we went along. Started the comic series, House of M, which really helped explain what Wanda was experiencing. Need to finish that up!

Wanda is going to play a big part in Doctor Stange 2: The Multiverse of Madness, so some of the loose ends of Wandavision will hopefully be addressed then! I honestly can’t wait to see Wanda and Strange fight together, or eachother, it’s going to be incredible. Looking forward to seeing your reactions to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier & Loki! You will love them both I’m sure.

Brandon

Have you seen or planning to watch "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."? I don't think you need to watch it to understand the rest of the MCU shows but the reverse definitely helps as there's a lot of references to the movies in the show. The Darkhold (The book of the Damned) is actually featured in one of the seasons and it plays a pretty big part, though the Scarlet Witch is never mentioned in it in the show. In regards to "what have they unleashed?", remember when Agatha was reading the chapter of the Scarlet Witch she said it's her "destiny to destroy the world" so we can assume something bad is going to happen where maybe Wanda's powers corrupt her or become unstable and she goes on a rampage or something, I think that's what she's referring to when she says 'unleashed', so definitely looking forward to seeing that in the future (possibly in the Dr. Strange 2 movie?).

I'm not a comic book reader, but I know her children play big roles in the comics. I think that post credit scene was her maybe working to figure out how to bring them back? It's hard to say, since the MCU cherry picks certain story lines from the comics to adapt, but I'd say there's a strong chance we'll see Billy and Tommy in future MCU media.

Jasmine Lambert

the end credit is wanda reading the darkhold i assume to find out more about her powers and her destiny that agatha was talking about, and then she hears billy and tommy calling for help which i think may be alluding to the multiverse opening up and worlds colliding and wanda's powers allow her to hear them from a different timeline where either the hex is still functional or they were created outside of wanda's magic and so don't need it to survive. this may be what agatha meant by wanda not knowing what she unleashed, because all of the different timelines coming together would cause chaos that will probably be addressed more in dr strange multiverse of madness. oh and also monica's powers came from the hex so essentially she got her powers from wanda, darcy said before that going through the hex rewrote monica's cells or something to that degree and after enough times it caused a permanent mutation although we don't know the extent of her powers yet. she is going to be in the second captain marvel movie though so hopefully we get more information then.

This was a good finale, was a bit surprised that the kids weren't saved but I guess it gave it more gravity (maybe they are still an option in the future with the post-credit scene). Technically we have Vision back, not sure where he has gone off to. The prophecy of Wanda being the destruction of the world I guess will come to pass in one of the larger films at some point. They are going to have to throw everything at her to stop whatever happens. Agatha will no doubt be back as well. This series overall was super cool. I enjoyed the different direction it took and the mystery elements to it and I guess the cultural references and easter eggs that were no doubt scattered everywhere. Got to know the characters so much more than we have in the films. I liked how it was ultimately almost a show about mental health and grief and how that might manifest in someone with powers. Considering the length of the episodes and only being 9 episodes, they really did cram in a lot of stuff as well. I hear a lot of people say their favourite show is any one of the 3 main shows out so far, so am really excited to see the rest now, with the quality this has set. I hope they continue to risk doing things outside the box for their shows as this was a treat.

Charlie

The Darkhold is also in Agents of Shield! I think you should also watch that, by the way, and the Runaways, as the Darkhold is also in that. It was last seen in the Runaways before it made it's way to WandaVision, and another well known witch in the MCU had it there, and in both Agents of Shield and the Runaways it is connected with the Dark Dimension. I love how all of these are connected, and make so much sense together! I could talk about it all day. Like how one of the main characters, Tina Minoru, in the Runaways was part of the group trying to bring the Dark Dimension to Earth. They have comics that connects the movies in between, and she was in on it, having also studied with the Ancient One. Anyway, all that to say, the shows and the movies are all connected beautifully!

Simon3

Some important things that you should remember going forward: 1) The word "Nexus" 2) Agatha said that the Scarlet Witch is more powerful than the Sorcerer Supreme AKA Doctor Strange. 3) Wanda is reading the Darkhold (the book of the damned) at the end.. As you might guess, that's NOT a good thing...

DracoMint

I don't view Agatha as a villain, when she was begging her coven and her mother to stop she knew that they would die if they tried to kill her, she wasn't begging for herself. When it comes to Wanda, she saw a witch who was being VERY irresponsible with her powers, plus a being who according to her book is supposed to end the world, she wanted to take that power away, which from her point of view saves Westview and the world, but the added bonus of more power for herself is why I can't say she's a hero either necessarily, we'll know more about her motivations in the future I'm sure.

Alex

I love how hype you get during the intro

Alex

I hate that the mailman wasn't anything, he was so sus

In the comics Monica goes by Spectrum, Photon or Pulsar. She first appeared in a Spider-Man comic and later joined the Avengers. She got her power by smashing through a weapon of mass destruction. She was a Lieutenant in the New Orleans Harbor patrol on a mission when she found the weapon and couldn’t turn it off, hence why she had to smash it with all her might. It gave her the ability to turn her body into pure energy and to see and manipulate all “spectrums” of energy. Agatha is not a villain, she was very worried when her coven attacked her and said no please I can’t control it, knowing they would get hurt. The way they approached her out of fear for an ability she can’t control, is probably why she treated Wanda the same way. Knowing that it’s a power she might not be able to control. She knows that she might hurt people (again) or be attacked for it.

Anonymous

I viewed her as coveting power over everything else. In the 1600s she clearly went in search of dark magic to improve herself, which led to the death of all those witches. Her main aim from manipulating Wanda was to learn how to get more power herself, it was only really late on that she realised what Wanda was and to me used the excuse of the prophecy to justify trying to take her powers. I assume if she had actually taken all the powers then she would have become the Scarlet Witch herself maybe, thus the prophecy would still not be altered. Someone that only acts for their own self interest and at the cost of other people comes off as a villain to me. We didn't really see all that much of her though so there could easily be background information that changes the context to it all and makes her an anti-hero. That was my take away at least.

Brad Johnson

Monica got her powers from being rewritten 3 times going into the hex

Brad Johnson

Wanda is Atral Projecting (Dr Strange) and learning about spell reading the DarkHold

Alex

I think it was so popular that they might make a season 2 even though they hadn't planned to

Alex

Agatha not being a villain was not a take I expected to see twice in these comments lol

Lee David Russell

A very unique and slightly bonkers direction for Marvel to take, with the whole sitcom/fake reality storyline, and the emphasis on grief and loss, but it paid off so well. There are so many elements in here that will influence the other MCU movies and shows going forward. Not to mention the way they fleshed out Wanda's character and made us love her even more (I also now have a massive crush on Elizabeth Olsen tbh 😄). Loved your reactions to this and really looking forward to Falcon and the Winter Soldier 💙

JayCanuck

We love a sick third act outfit upgrade

Luis Reyes

Yes now keep in mind that this storyline is going to continue in DR. STRANGE 2 since Wanda is a main character maybe even villain, but Kevin feige said that events of wandavision connect to Spider-Man 3 that leads into drs2, I heard she also might be in post credit scene of Spider-Man since next movie is DRS2

Nick22

No, unfortunately they won't. Disney already announced that the series will not be getting a second season. What we will however get is a spin-off about Agatha.

Nick22

I think it might has something to do with what lengths she will go to, to get her family back in the real world.

Nick22

I would love to see them return! Because if they do, they could use the opportunity to introduce an LGBTQ+ character into the MCU. Because if they take Wiccan (Billy) like he is in the comics, that might be a possibility. I would definitely be very excited about this, and I assume Seb would be too based on his Love, Victor and Young Royals reactions.

Nick22

There was an Agatha centered spin-off announced. I am very excited about that one! ^^

Nick22

I strongly disagree on this one. I think Agatha actually played innocent and vulnerable so that her coven would attack her. She knew what would happen to them and manipulated them to proceed still. If she really wanted to save them, she could have just told them what would happen when they attack her. Her taking the coven’s power was precisely what she planned for and what she wanted.

Nick22

I agree lol. I also think she manipulated her coven to get exactly what she wanted - their power.

Nick22

I actually understood the scene with Agatha and her coven as a manipulation. Agatha wanted their power and manipulated them to attack her. At least that's how I picked up on it.

Jair

From what I understood of this version of Wanda, her powers don't create sentient illusions. She creates real things. Which lines up with her abilities in the comics. While we don't know the details, we know from what Monica mentioned that her children and the Vision she created are real. But however she cast her magic, they could only exist within the hex. The end credit scene I'm assuming is teasing that this restriction could potentially be undone and that's what Wanda is trying to figure out how to do. In the comics, Wanda impregnated herself with magic and that's how she had her children. I'm pretty sure that's what happened to her as well. I'm definitely curious to see where the story goes. She's rumored to be the villain in Doctor Strange 2. She's reading from the Darkhold in the end credit scene. That's a BIG no-no so I definitely know that next time we see Wanda we will not be seeing a good version of her.

DracoMint

Begging somebody to not attack doesn't make somebody more likely to attack, if she acted colder, confident or as if she didn't care they would still try to kill her, the only slim chance would be to do exactly what she did, act vulnerable and try to appeal to her mother's love for her was her only slim chance of the coven not ending up dead. If she told them what would happen if they attacked her, that would probably have been seen as a threat and just make them more likely to go through with it if there was a slim chance of them changing their mind. I think she'll be an anti-hero going forward, while we don't know if she'll be in the multiverse of madness, I think she is likely to be there either released by Wanda and taking on a mentoring role like she does in the comics or possibly help fight against Wanda if Wanda is a villain of that movie. Either way we know she is most likely getting released from Westview before Agatha's own show comes up and if the rumors are correct she'll be an ally of the Fantastic Four. Her comic counterpart is for sure morally gray and I think the MCU version is the same way.

Cam’ron

Man if you have read any of the spoilers for Doctor Strange 2, it's gonna be in sane. It's basically Wanda's movie and I'm here for it.

Davide

Some people criticise the finale because the fights are a CGI fest. I don't care about that, the action isn't the focus of this show. There's big emotional stakes and that's what makes them great. Plus, I love how Vision vs Vision ends in a philosophy battle. They had to interrupt filming because of the pandemic, which affected the finale. I believe there was one scene with Fietro (fake Pietro) they didn't have time for and the actress that plays Darcy was busy with something else, which is why she barely appeared. Based on the post-credits scene, I assume the twins will return in some way. I really hope they keep a certain aspect of Billy from the comics and introduce a certain character related to that (I'm being vague to avoid spoilers).

Brandon Moore

Re-watching WandaVision along with your reactions has been a joy and a pleasure! I loved the show the first time around, and I loved it this time around, too. The ending is definitely mysterious, but I do have some ideas about that final scene, considering Wanda is set to return to the MCU soon. As much as I loved this show, my personal favorite is The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (I love those characters and the story that the show told). I'm looking forward to seeing you watch it next week! And the effort you put into your reactions truly shows and I'm excited to see your channel and Patreon continue to evolve over time.

I'm interested to see what Falcon and the Winter Soldier is like, I seem to only see people either saying it's their favourite or it's their least favourite (going as far as to call it boring).

KiwiJello

I am not well versed in the marvel comics, so many times things go over my head. Falcon and The Winter Soldier did not at all and I totally enjoyed it. There are some minor issues, but it propels the whole Marvel story forward. Worth the watch for sure.

Davide

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is obvious a much more grounded show than WandaVision. My guess is a lot the differences in people's rankings of it in comparison to other MCU shows boil down to preferences between grounded shows and out there ones.

Nora Bossa

Seb, Now that you are officially in Phase 4, I strongly recommend you to watch the “Marvel studios celebrates the movies” trailer. It will give you goosebumps.

Brandon Moore

Yeah, it gets into some deep territory that people seem to either love or dislike. I'm interested in seeing how everyone fees about it

Brandon Moore

Absolutely right. I've always been a sucker for the more grounded side of the MCU, which is why Captain America: The Winter Soldier is still my favorite film in the franchise. People who are more into the magical and cosmic corners of the MCU probably won't enjoy TFATWS as much.

Davide

I love Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but my preference when it comes to MCU shows is stuff that couldn't be done in movies. Which is why I prefer something like WandaVision.

Davide

I agree, I love that trailer. And it doesn't reveal that much, so I don't think watching it would diminish your movie reactions.

Anonymous

I like me some deep territory if it's done well. I love grounded stuff and I love magic/cosmic/mystic stuff so everything is game for me lol

Venom let there be carnage is now streaming will you be watching it?

Monica got her powers by passing through the hex multiple times - Darcy mentioned it when she said her cells were being changed and warned her about going back into the hex. Wanda is studying the Darkhold at the end - which isn't really a good thing - but it shows she's starting to learn her powers and probably leads into some kind of plot line in DRS2. This is a limited series, so there's only 1 season. Personally, all I want for Wanda is to have something good happen to her. She's been through so much trauma and grief that she deserves a "Peggy" moment like Cap got in the end of endgame - like give her the kids back and let her go off and be a mother Marvel!

Ricky Sadd

Monica is going to be a big character moving forward. She is a really cool character in the comics and her powers are super versatile. Since she can turn into and control on spectrums of energy, they can really do some cool things with her. Since she can turn into pure energy, there was even a moment in the comics where Captain Marvel (Carol) absorbed her to strengthen her powers. In the comics Carol can also absorb energy which is the one thing they have not shown. Also they are definitely setting up Young Avengers with Billy and Tommy being introduced and Kate Bishop in the Hawkeye show. I won't spoil any other additions they have already introduced. Billy and Tommy are both LGBTQ+ characters with Billy being one half of arguably the most popular gay couple in comics. Tommy is Bisexual in the comics. Actually, pretty much the majority of Young Avengers team is LGBTQ+. It was fun rewatching this series with you and gets me more excited for the next 2 Marvel movies Spiderman and Doctor Strange 2

Ayenate Lawson

Re-watching the show, I feel for Wanda much more, because on first viewing I was like, ummmm Wanda Maximoff just scarred a whole town of people for life over her boyfriend and isn't even offering to pay for their therapy. I think it was the fact that these people were worried about their kids and their loved ones so Wanda shutting down the town because she is sad about her loved ones really isn't fair. I think once it sunk in that she really didn't know what she was doing and she didn't know how she was making these people feel that I realized okay Wanda is redeemable. Because the town was high key trash before she got there and everyone looked miserable.

Kevin

The cosmic radiation from Wanda's magic altered Monica's DNA, making her a mutate, and giving her powers.

Chris Reyes

Did you watch this in one sitting?

Tina Prioleau Baeza

I'mglad someone commentedand cleared up the source of Monica's powers. I can't believe Seb missed that part..😄 I mean, Darcy explained that to Monica 3 times that her cells got rewritten each time she went through the barrier. My understanding is that Wanda's barrier was a combination of the power of the infinity stone & her chaos magic, which is what made it so impregnable. Also, Wanda was not yet The Scarlet Witch until she tapped into her actual inborn Chaos magic,.and her power amplified after casting the runes, at that point she became The Scarlet Witch. She's massively powerful. Finally, Wanda is a Nexus Being, like Loki. Nexus Beings wield chaos magic. There's only 1 per universe...Wanda is ours.

Jennifer Alice

I mean the whole MCU is so evolved and deep with lore. I could never think of storylines like Wandavision. You have to imagine there are people whose job is solely to read comic sets and come up with current versions of the stories. It's insane!!!
