Still fairly confused but I just know things are about to kick off so hard! Really loving this so far and it is always a shame to have to wait a week to watch more. But plenty of movies and shows coming this month!

I'm glad you are enjoying it so far. I thought you would. I don't think you will need the Maca Root every week but by all means go for it lol. One relevant thing I think you might have overlooked in the 1st episode was that the guy with a tattoo on his head was there to steal the same thing as Wolfgang- hence the dialogue at the funeral and the timer they had was based on him arriving. I don't know how big a backlash it was, but I remember a lot of people negative review bombing this show because of the diversity, particularly with the lesbian scene with the strap on, in the 1st episode. I think diversity is this show's strength and one of the cool things about it is that I think a lot of the actors/actresses were born in their respective countries from this show. So Sun's actress was born in South Korea, Wolfgang's actor was born in Germany, Kala's actress was born in India, and so on. So it's not just American born actors all just pretending to be from those cultures, which I thought was a really cool thing. I am actually so excited for this month with everything coming up, I can't even. 😁

This is really my favorite show ever! I do even have "amor vincit omnia" tattoed on my wrist (that's the final episode title) and I can promise you this show gets better in every episode, very happy you're watching it!

The way I scream laughed at "What the f*ck is that in his pants?!" 💀😂 As fun as it was seeing you so frustrated by the lack of answers and the jumping around between scenes, I can already tell I'm gonna enjoy watching you fall in love with these characters and get invested in their stories. Really glad you're watching this show and can't wait for the next episodes.

For my money, the two best live action sci fi shows on Netflix are Dark and Sense8. They're both brilliantly articulated and fully unique. The first few episodes of Sense8 is centering you in the characters and their lives because as the bigger plot fully explodes in the narrative it will heavily weave each character's life into it (no spoilers). And the plot WILL fully explode. And soon. I have deep love for this show and the characters. In case you weren't clocking their names, The Wachowskis also created and directed the Matrix films as well as this show. As much as I love The Matrix and recognize that it fully changed cinema, Sense8 is - for my sensibilities - their magnum opus so far. Glad you're digging it. And it is going to get so wild and clever and heartstring pulling and smoochy and saucy - trust me. So thrilled this show won the poll.

also, I don’t know if you know this, but The Wachowskis are sisters Lana and Lilly (trans women) who also wrote and directed The Matrix!

Nomi's actress is a trans woman as well as the main creators are both trans women so I think that is why there is a very strong trans representation here that really pulls on the heartstrings. The relationship between Nomi and Amanita from the beginning is so beautiful and wholesome as well.

no worries about the swearing; I was also very angry during this episode, especially when Nomi's mom kept dead-naming her. what a fucking bitch! anyway, I am loving your reactions to this show. can't wait to see you slowly start to piece together the puzzle. I can tell you're falling in love with these characters and so the plot development will hit that much harder because of it.

Accidentally deleted my original comment while replying to @Mark 🥴🤦🏻‍♂️ I completely forgot about the Wachowskis while watching this (and having such a strong reaction to the trans storyline). As someone who barely watched The Matrix last year (I know! 🙈), and now this, I’ve just become familiar with their work/ who they are as people now (rather than someone who was familiar with who they used to be).

Nomi broke my heart this episode, and hearing her mother call her “Michael” made my blood boil. Despite the progress of the queer community, the depiction of trans discrimination is still (unfortunately) relevant today. *Also I totally called Lito (the movie star) being gay 🚨😂

You just wanted to delete my comment. I'm onto you 👀 Talking about the Matrix, it seems like quite a few of the actors/actresses from Sense8 are going to be present in the 4th film. I almost wonder if there might be some weird connection between them, no matter how unlikely that might be.

I absolutely love this show and I'm still so mad at Netflix for cancelling it! It had a great storyline, the 50/50 male and female cast, multi-racial representation, LGBT representation (especially trans representation and how well it's portrayed). It's so frustrating that they cancelled such a good show citing "production costs due to locational filming" yet they've wasted money on some truly awful content since cancelling this show.

This is my all time favorite show that netflix cancelled way too soon!! It was beautiful, and never made a big deal on sexuality, which i loved. People just connecting with other humans without worrying about their genitalia. It was amazing for a queer boy like myself to see such acceptance!

How do you guys synchronize your copy of the show to Seb's reaction? I just minimize a separate window of Netflix and time the play button for when he counts down. The only problem is I can't really pause or rewind without messing up the timing and having to restart that whole thing. Is there like some sort of official way to do this?

With Netflix specifically I find it a lot easier to get in sync with his countdown and then start mine, so usually almost in sync immediately. In general though I will pause my version or his reaction until it's perfectly in sync. Usually in little bursts of a second or less to get it right on point. I would recommend your version being on 0:00 and then press play when he finishes his countdown.

Loving your reactions to this so far!!! This show, The OA, and Dark are my all-time favorite Netflix shows. Like this, The OA ended too soon and too abrupt. If you start reacting to either of those two I might lose it!
