I don't like it, when people hype up reactors to much. It makes them develop expectations and that is never a good thing for experiencing a story for the first time. Even if you avoid spoilers it may ruin the reaction

Avatar fans hype season 2 because we know that season 1 can be difficult for people to get through. One of my favourite reactors didn't make it through and several of my friends. So i am really excited that you're enjoying it thus far!

Appa must have been freezing swimming in that water 🥶 Not sure where Katara went from struggling to do water bending several episodes ago to being a badass but we'll ignore that lol. The North Pole place is really pretty and cool, and the sexism is very uncool. I know what you mean about hyping later stuff, I try not to do that much as it does set arguably unrealistic expectations and devalues the earlier episodes or seasons. At the end of the day the later episodes are only better (or more fun at least) because of the foundation of the earlier ones- both for plot development, character development and worldbuilding. As you said, some episodes are probably more boring on rewatch but that doesn't mean they are boring at all on first watch

It's awesome to hear you ask what could possibly make seasons 2 and 3 click - trust me, season 1 is good obviously but seasons 2 and 3 establish avatar as one of the best tv shows of all time (not even just animated, IMBD has avatar ranked as the 10th best tv show across all categories of all time - you'll find out why!)

You're so right about the YT comments. They're literally the worst. In every reaction series on YT. They just say way too much and I'm sorry you've had to deal with that. As an older generation person I get so confused by the definition of simp. Doesn't that only apply to women who don't reciprocate? I'm always bewildered by it, it gets thrown around so often, I've just forgotten the original meaning.

Great reactions as always. This particular episode has always been a weird one for me. On the one hand, I absolutely love the Northern Water Tribe, it is one of the show's incredible locations and this episode did a really great job with the world-building. I also do like it when avatar dives into some deeper themes like in this case, cultural sexism, and in some of the other episodes this season, we've seen themes of genocide and the horrors of war. The water bending fight, as you noted, was sick as fuck. My problem with this episode is pretty much entirely the resolution. Paaku changing his stubborn and offensive traditions because he learns who Katara's gran gran is? Idk I guess I personally would have preferred if Paaku was just an old dick who is really good at waterbending, stays stubborn in his ways, and Aang and Katara find a more accepting teacher. Anyway, of course, this is my favorite show ever and has been since I was a kid, and I absolutely love this episode and season. Can't wait for more reactions! Thanks for the content.
