Hi folks!

Happy February. I'm coming to you from a very calm, happy and hopeful place. I wish the same for you also.

That being said, I wanted to share a little video with you all today, filmed last week. This is 15 minutes of me singing mantras to soothe a panic attack. Yup. I experience anxiety a fair amount, but much less so these days. This is the first time in over 6 months that I'd felt panicky, and this time I was well equipped to understand what was happening and use healthy coping mechanisms to ground myself and channel the energy in a meaningful way.

In the middle of singing I felt a spur of the moment urge to record myself so that I could remember the feeling. I'm not sure how well it comes across externally, but as I sang I felt myself physically relax and start to smile. I'd already been singing for a little while at this point, but before I hit record I was moving around a LOT, lots and lots of excess energy that needed calming. I find it really interesting to watch myself chill out so quickly. When I was done, I felt like me again.

Aaahhh the power of music!!!

Anyway, I filmed this for me but now I feel like sharing with you. THIS is why I'm so passionate about spreading music, and helping people find the tools they need to be able to play and explore: because it's just so magical and it is quite literally the only reason I'm able to function as I do!

Alright. Vulnerability practice over.

Thanks for indulging me.

Much love,

Amy
