Any specific gangster movie inspirations in the writing of this? 🤌

FoxFaceStories

Goodfellas, The Godfather, and a sprinkling of Once Upon a Time in America.

Excellent stuff. Double Indemnity was my gateway.

I adore Double Indemnity, though I think of it more as a noir film than a gangster film, personally. Overlapping themes, but different genres. It started a journey for me that including Laura, Kiss Me Deadly, The Big Sleep, The Third Man, and other classics of the genre.

Haven't watched Where the Sidewalk Ends, but my noir experience is more in the 1940's. I love Alfred Hitchcock's stuff, though.
