You know, I've never played this game, and I don't think I will. I of course did some research for this meme, and naturally I'm familiar with it over the years, I've watched gameplay of it and streams etc. But I think I won't play it. I don't play horror games usually. For one, I don't like being scared. It is normal to not like to be scared. And I have a very active imagination and an inherent paranoia, so if I engage with horror stuff, I'll be up at 3AM checking the hallways ready to fight for my life. But also I just don't enjoy a lot of horror gameplay. High tension time based puzzles and stuff, a lot of patience oriented stuff where you have to wait for something to pass, eh, it's not quite my thing. I think the genre is amazing though and there's so much incredible material from it, naturally I salute the brilliance of the horror genre, I just don't generally engage with it.I tried to lessen how brutal of a jumpscare the meme was, and deliver the joke kinda as fast as possible so it could potentially have the humor of diffusing the fear with something hilarious and confusing right as you're still kinda feeling the fear, potentially heightening the effect of the comedy? Something like that, I liked this timing for that reason. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with how it came out! I don't usually like to do outright JUMPSCARES, but, considering the meme, it felt like the only right answer.
