This month I'm looking for a few things to do as writing warm-ups. This month I'd like things that can be done in under 5000 words, and the settings I'm leaning toward are (in order of internal pressure to do something), HAYVEN CELESTIA, ANI-DROIDS, IN THE NEW AGE, DOGMEN, A&H CLUB, CAMPUS AVENUE

I know the rules look a little intimidating but it's mainly just to make sure you know what I'm asking when I'm asking for a writing prompt!

0. Post your writing prompt below.

1. Must be set in one of my already-established universes, or at least be connected to something I've made with my own original characters (do not ask for anything with anyone else's OCs unless they're already part of my universes' established lore).

2. It doesn't have to specifically feature characters I've already made, these can be new characters that fit the setting or characters I've drawn or mentioned but haven't developed. I'm not crazy about crossovers but if you can make it interesting go for it.

3. Please do not ask for anything involving West or Kar (Karishad is fine in Housepets prompts)

4. Prompts can be potentially in-canon OR out-of-canon, doesn't matter!

5. Ideally, I would like the writing prompt to describe a scenario or starting point for a story. Don't just mash up two characters for me, that's not a prompt. I need the prompt to at least suggest a problem, not just which characters you want to see bumping uglies.

6. I'd like something you'd actually like to see, not a generic writing prompt you pulled off the internet or from a generator.

7. Please do not just ask for something that is a "slice of life"; most of what people consider slice-of-life is actually a microplot. Some plot still happens, inconsequential as it may be! And I am looking for a prompt about that plot!

Seeing the campus avenue picture of them at an arcade. I'm interested in hearing the story behind that. I know that might be slice of Life. Or the arcade is one of the places they try to figure out any discrepancies pac-man/puckman for example.

I think it would be cool to have a coming of age story featuring krakun children. What about a new kid in school who is trying to fit in and the cool kids all like to make their mammal slaves fight to the death for fun. Being new in town his only friend is his mammal slave, and he struggles with the idea of sacrificing his friend so he gain social acceptance. Maybe he initially goes along with it but has a sudden change of heart when his slave is about to die and then he frees all the slaves, including breaking out the ones about to be dissected for science class, earning a trip to the principle’s office.

A very drunk Tesko gets pulled into an argument with Inzari (also sloshed) about who the better lay is. They decide they need to use Gert to settle the matter for them. Tesko agrees before the thoughts process in her boozed mind, and she asks how he's supposed to answer that when she's never slept with Gert. Inzari says that's easy enough to remedy.

Pokemon guys: While you didn't list that, I don't think you *ever* wrote a story about them at least since your early fanfic days. I would really like to see something like a typical day in the life of Furret/Jenna/Chindy (and maybe Claire and/or the other poke-characters you had? Like that old houndoom guy). Maybe they're at the beach or at the store; maybe the story behind those 3 pics of Jenna and Furret swapping clothes, or more generally a story about Furret dealing with the embarrassment of some nudity and/or sex scenario imposed upon him by Jenna and Chindy (and others?). HC (prolly non-canon): I thought it'd be interesting to have Rees somehow meet one or more other males - perhaps Stix and/or Gert (can you imagine how adorable Rees and Stix would be together?) - and really explore the different ways to male-ness and gender in general (which Rees can't have as much with the Ssarith). Since such an encounter would likely be non-canon, let's see... maybe Rees is made to meet different species (as a cultural ambassador of sorts perhaps) and it just so happens that he meets those two, and they have to spend time together on the WFII (or wherever)? It could turn naughty or not; but I'm sure there's a lot of interesting things to dig into the gender presentation stuff either way

I'd love to see a Hayven Celestia story focusing on the Kyacoatl. Like, say, what would happen if the sole survivor of a catastrophic event aboard a Kyacoatl seeker ship happened to be rescued by a crew of Geroo who knew nothing about the Children of Alamatol, and were already dealing with their own problems with the Geordians? A Kyacoatl who grew up being told all these horror stories of what the Geroo did to their ancestors, yet here's a group of them who are just as oppressed and have never even heard of this race of mask-wearing coyote-folk...

Hmm what about a couple of student at campus avenue and one them is houndoom dude whose at front taking chrage of fighting off robots they made in class that have suddenly started going haywire like breaking stuff

It's been a while with Nowhere Man. Whether you continue where you left off or start a new one doesn't matter, but I like to see a short story about Starspirit. In this Hayven Celestia universe, this space otter is apparently a new race yet to be introduced. Perhaps a point of view where she is learning how her father, the governor, dealt with an issue concerning the sharing of properties. After that was resolved, an even bigger problem arise in the form of a stranger not of their land, let alone the planet.

A ringel smuggling ship has to do an emergency landing on an unexplored planet, they crash-land on a desolate place or in the middle of a jungle and need to look for civilization to ask for help

Seymour (from Strange Visions) is welcoming some new students to the dorm. One of the students finds Clay’s discarded bottle of hypnotite. Intrigued, Seymour decided to try it for himself.

While almost everyone is suggesting original ideas, what about knowing what's happening in stories already in progress? E.g. Symmeran Wastes (Mysa discovering reading and "married" life) and A Vast And Endless Sky (training to become ambassador when the future of your world is at stake) are very innovative settings and I really would like to know more about them.

A normal Friday afternoon at college in the Campus Avenue universe, where a guy goes to class, a study group, and the bar.

An anup slave is owned by a krakun who wishes to live the life of an anup. He wants to live on Anuptec, bandage his forepaws, use a krakun-sized span, and experience Awe as the anup do. The slave, while proud of their heritage, finds this all disconcerting. As the slave tries to teach and humour the krakun about their culture, they find they know very little about their own people. Only their long-gone ancestors have even stepped foot on anuptec. The slave and owner conspire to travel to anuptec to learn more. Upon arriving, the krakun has difficulty finding individuals who won't treat them with distanced grandeur. Meanwhile, the anup is finding the actions and histories of their own people unappetizing, maybe uncovering some nasty underbelly to their culture the natives want to keep hidden. Their differing views on upholding the anup traditions leads to heated arguments and maybe even betrayal. Uh, if that's too much, too specific, idk. Something with arrunians, I guess?

For your HC stories I think most if not all follow higher up characters. Have you ever thought of writing from the point of view of a lower decks character? I’m trying to think of something, a glanced over character or situation out of your novels that would make and interesting story but I’m drawing a blank. Anyone feel free to suggest something.

I'd be interested in seeing what Ringel domestic life is like.

Goataroo (Gre7g and Ky Luterman)

Moani is isolated from her entire crew. Perhaps some delay means she couldn't get through a gate and now they must wait one month before it's physically back in position. No amount of hacking nor bribery can change this. She's stuck. But there's a guy or gal there who she's really into. How would that go?

I'm curious what it was like when Reed invited Clay to his family...
