Sparring Ring, Oppai Club

–Magdaran Bael–

He gave the Norse God a dubious look at that. “Aren’t there supposed to be laws on how to deal with unaccompanied minors when it comes to magic being used on them, healing or otherwise?”

Odin rolled his eyes at him, “Stop stalling and get to it. If you could mess her up even more, then I will really have to rethink our arrangement. As for Azazel, you leave him to me.”

“And what of Penemue?” He countered, knowing full well that the leader of the Grigori was nowhere near the parent figure that Penemue probably was, judging by the happiness all but oozing from Vali when he last saw both of them together.

Odin just waved his hand, as a gentle but firm force pushed him towards Vali, who was now resting on an elevated platform, the God having manipulated the terrain around them, which was understandable since he was in a place that was the equivalent of a Wizard’s Tower, wherein the Wizard and only the Wizard reigned supreme.

“Fine.” he rolled his eyes at that before he placed his hand on her arm, his power making surface level contact with her, as he carefully, very carefully, injected some of his power into her. As expected, there was immediate resistance, but this time, it was far more violent than he’d expected.

He had expected some resistance, as even the monsters that only had bloodlust on their mind could instinctively realise that foreign Demonic Energy was not supposed to be inside their bodies, but this was far higher than expected.

Vali’s Demonic Energy roiled under her skin, lashing out at his energy, as if it was poison, to the point that it was about to injure Vali. His brows furrowed, the world around him disappearing as he concentrated on not pushing through but maintaining presence without triggering that violent response.

The flood of Demonic Energy reduced to a trickle, as he left barely a sliver in her body, and only then did Vali’s demonic Energy stop fighting him. He knew full well that this was new territory, which is why he began from her arm, which could be severed cleanly and then attached by Odin or by Phenex Tears that the God certainly had on hand.

He kept his energy stationary, without any movement or intent, waiting for something to happen, and only when her energy seemed to have settled down did he read through her injuries, before trying to heal them.

Thankfully, the injuries were only surface level, burning her skin, some of her muscles, and straining her bones somewhat as she tried to weather through the backlash instead of going with the flow. He realised that if Vali had just thrown herself back with the fire spell, she probably would have been able to fight more, but nooo, she had to boneheadedly try to charge through the spell, as if that was a smart move, and get herself knocked out.

With her arm healed, he waved his hand, creating a ball of water before cleaning her off, giving him a clearer look at her injuries. He winced at seeing her right arm’s condition. That one was more burned than this one, and there were minor tears in her muscles.

Getting to work, he worked his magic on her and healed her arms and legs, as well as cutting off some of the scarred skin before regrowing it entirely. He was dimly aware that the only reason he had been able to do that was because Odin had likely cast an anesthesia like spell on her or just plain knocked her out.

All in all, it was quite interesting and quite risky as well to use Vali as experimental material for his first healing session with a Half Devil Half Human. Contrary to his expectations, he did not get to interact with Albion inside the Divine Dividing, despite starting with Vali’s arms.

Was he still asleep, or was he located in some other part? Sure, Scared Gears were directly attached to the user’s soul, so he did not know how he could interact with a Sacred Gear, but he was kinda curious to see what would happen, what with it being the first time he was able to interact with a Sacred Gear user this way.

Akihito’s Sacred Gear was interesting as well, but he did not interact with the man with his Power, nor would he because of the risk involved.

Odin was right, he had collected so much data with just this one instance. He had also found out that it was far more difficult than he had expected to heal someone else, especially if they resisted in the same manner that Vali here did. He was sure that if she was awake, she could have helped somewhat, but he was unsure of just how he could trust her.

She was still a child, with all the impulsive behavior that came with it. He might have better chances with an adult supernatural being with perfect control of their own internal energy, but then again, how many beings would be comfortable letting him, a Bael, send his Demonic Energy inside their body, knowing full well that with a single thought, he could turn that healing energy into disintegrating energy and kill them from inside.

Huh. It was going to be pretty hard to convince people to let him heal them, wasn’t it?

He was snapped out of his thoughts as Odin’s energy pervaded the area around them, as he looked up and found Odin looking down at Vali's sleeping form, with her entire body covered in a yellow glow that was likely one of Odin’s diagnostic spells.

“Interesting,” he heard the God whisper to himself as he took a step back and realised that he had used up far more energy than he had expected on healing just simple burns, and muscle damage. It was probably because of the way he had to go about doing this whole healing process.

When he’d experimented with Demonic Beasts back in the Pit, it was only after he had beaten the Beasts to an inch of their lives, and then did not care about any resistance from their end as he ran roughshod over their internal network and healed everything, before releasing them.

This time, however, he had to be far more careful as the recipient of his healing was far more important as well as a sapient being, instead of a barely sentient being in the form of bloodthirsty Demonic Beasts of the Pits.

After a minute or so of watching Odin do his magic, he spoke up, “So? What’s the verdict?”

Odin remained silent for a moment more before he spoke up, “It looks promising so far, but there are many things we haven’t tested yet. This just proved that your healing method can work on almost any living being. Even your Garden, if I am not wrong?”

He tensed immediately at the mention of his Garden, especially in the context of him using his conceptual powers on them, because that came with the far more negative connotations of messing with life, and anytime that was mentioned in the same breath as Devils, then it was considered negative and everyone and their grandma in the entire supernatural world di their best to get rid of that particular person.

After all, Demonic Energy artificial lifeforms being birthed in an extremely short time span, bred for war, was something that was only done by the Mother of all Devils, Lilith, and he did not want to be mentioned anywhere near that woman. It would mean nothing but trouble for him.

Then, he relaxed, as it was Odin and the Norse God must have figured that out the moment he revealed to them that he could do conceptual destruction. He would have liked to keep manipulation of life itself using his destruction a secret, but the cat was out of the bag. Plus, he was going to be testing Odin with his Garden anyway, so this much should be fine.

Fighting against his turtle like instincts, he replied, “Yu. Though, I haven’t been able to explore that all much due to location constraints.”

“Yeah,” Odin finally turned to him and replied, “I can imagine so.”

Odin then snapped his fingers, waking Vali up, who shot up with a gasp, jumping directly off the platform, only to fall back down, even with his wings out, because of the sparring ring’s enchantments that kept flight abilities limited.

Vali, naturally, did not care about the hard floor one bit, but was more focused on her arms and her body, finding her healed body amazing. He did not know what he expected from Vali when she saw herself properly healed. Gratitude? Amazement? Relief? Happiness?

“You did this?” Instead, Vali marched up to Odin and asked him with sparkling eyes. He had a bad premonition in his heart at seeing her so excited. The only reason she had seen that level of happiness before was when she heard that he was going to spar with her.

Odin, being the kind of God he was, decided to just throw him under the bus and prolong his misery, “No. He did. He can heal all your injuries and even temporarily boost your stamina. He is quite skilled, you know.”

Vali’s neck snapped towards him so fast, he would have been worried about her neck had he not already been inching towards the exit of the floor, already regretting not leaving when Vali was knocked out, and Odin was deep in thought about her healing.

STUPID! STUPID!

“What? Really? Wait!” he turned around and ran out of there, with Vali hot on his tail, with Odin’s laughter echoing all around them.

[A Few Days Later]

Bael Territory, Underworld

“Are you sure these coordinates are right?” For the moving day, Serafall herself had arrived to personally supervise the whole thing.

More like to survey the location of my Garden, he thought internally, not buying her excuse of supervision even for a moment, but that was fine. Odin was one step ahead of them anyway.

“Yup,” he nodded, not elaborating one bit on the unasked question. After all, the coordinates were firmly in Norse territory, not inside, but very much on the periphery, and as such, was an area that was avoided by every single sane faction in the supernatural world, as no one wanted to be the one on the receiving end of a Divine Hammer.

In the background, there was frantic activity, as dozens of people had arrived to prepare everything. The people who were going to perform the actual spell were only about a dozen; the rest were just here as supporting staff, to make sure everything was done quickly, as Serafall seemed to be in such a hurry to get him out of the Underworld.

While it was odd, and the curiosity was somewhat eating him from inside, he was going to wait until he and his Garden were out of the Underworld before doing anything. To that end, he had helped them with everything they asked of him, but the main motive of his being out in the open helping everyone involved was because he was tense and expecting something from Zekram or his many agents in the Underworld.

Something to disrupt everything. Something to make it hurt. He had lost count of how many times he had double and tripled checked everything, even had the whole spell matrix looked over by Odin, who grumbled a bit but did it nonetheless before throwing the scroll back at his face, telling him that it was fine, if a bit shoddy work.

Despite memorising everything, he had kept that scroll on hand and had compared everything, to the point that some of the crew were visibly growing irritated at his intrusion, but they couldn't say or do anything because of who he was.

Also, he did not care about their feelings when it came to the Garden.

Thankfully, everything seemed to be going fine. No deviations in the agreed upon plan, or change in spell matrix, or the number or identity of the personnel supposed to cast the actual spell.

All was good.

……..Shit! He’d just tempted Murphy, hadn’t he?
