–Magdaran Bael—
With a battle cry, Vali crashed into Thor’s form, making him move for the first time since the Norse God had actually arrived here. In the thousands of clashes with Thor, he had never once managed to make Thor move from his initial position. Initially, it had only taken mere fingers to stop his attacks; then Thor needed to use his hands; then he had to use his energy to coat said hands; then he began using Mjolnir to stop his attacks.
It was probably the fastest he had ever grown in the middle of a battle, especially since most of his battles were usually over before he could truly ramp up or enter the most desperate phase, to abandon everything else and pursue one goal above everything else. It was a new feeling for him, and now that Vali was here, safe and sound, and even a Super Devil somehow, he was somewhat glad that Thor came here to stop him.
At this point, he wasn’t even sure if he wanted to fight Thor or not, as it was pretty clear that Thor was just here to stall him, and whatever had happened to Vali had resulted in her somehow reaching Super Devil status, and that silver light that seemed to be more poisonous than even Angel Light to him, and seemed to affect Thor to some degree as well. Mjolnir was now covered in a blue cage of lightning, which was being eaten away by that silver light, which just baffled him to no end as Vali, despite being a Super Devil, was clearly not a match for Thor in any way. Even if she was, all this strength was newly gained, and she did not have much of a handle on it.
It was made evident when Thor was pretty easily able to manoeuvre around her, deflecting her blows without much issue. Thor was smiling, enjoying the fight as well, which made him realise that Vali was indulging in this fight to quickly get used to her newfound strength. Shaking his head, he flexed his fists before rocketing forward, fist pulled back as he punched Thor in the back, only for the Norse God to use one hand to push him back while the other was busy trading blows with Vali. The single push, once more, obliterated the entirety of his arm, save for his bones that were now covered with tree roots.
He grinned, as a single flex of his energy made flesh grow rapidly, and he was whole before he had even bled off the momentum from that single blow. Jumping back into the fray, instead of just punching with all he had, he conjured a sword, using his bones as the enchantment material, projecting an energy construct in his hands, before getting Vali’s attention.
“Vali! Catch.” He threw the sword made up of his Power of Destruction towards Vali, her hand shooting out to catch the sword, and the moment she did so, the sword, dark purple in color, flared as if someone had thrown rocket fuel into a fire, expanding in size. The sword began burning with Demonic Energy as Vali’s silver energy acted as fuel.
With a jolt, he realised that the enchantments on his body were acting in tandem with that energy as well. His eyes widened as Vali somehow changed the enchantments on the bones, or rather, supercharged them to their max, all without having mastery over them or physical contact.
It was all due to that dark silver light. Vali was practically overflowing with that energy, and it was very dangerous, to the point that even Thor, someone who was probably in the top 4 or 5 in the Top Ten Strongest Beings list, had to dodge the attacks or use his energy as a substitute to let the Silver light eat that instead of Thor.
Demonic Brilliance of Evil Light.
The name rang in his mind as he floated back and let Vali duke it out with Thor, who was more than happy to indulge the newest Super Devil, even if Vali was only half human. Hell, he had not seen hide nor hair of Albion during the entire fight.
As he maintained distance from the fighting and observed the silver dome around the entire garden, there was the sound of booms, of space being torn apart, of bones breaking and then healing immediately, until eventually, all he could see was a blurry mess of silver and white and blue. Space was being destroyed and repaired at mind boggling rates, and he was getting kinda worried about something like the Dimensional Gap spilling over, like some places in the Pits.
He smiled at Vali's progress. He was proven wrong when it came to her. And he was more than happy to be proven wrong. He had told her that even if she somehow reached Super Devil status, the minimum strength required to take on the likes of Rizevim, she would not win alone, as Rizevim had the Sacred Gear Nullifier as his unique power, but here he was.
A scant few weeks later, and Vali had not only made the jump in power he still hadn’t, but she had done so with a power that Rizevim could only hope to have. As she was now, he could definitely see her giving Rizevim a tough fight, even without her Sacred Gear. All she had to do was wait for a few more years before—
Huh. He suddenly had a tendril of silver light in front of him, about to hook onto his waist. He almost watched it happen in slow motion before it all sped up immensely, as Vali pulled him towards the fight, almost as if she was using him like a javelin, aimed directly at Thor, who was currently using Mjolnir to hold off the sword he’d given Vali.
The sword was currently producing far more potent Power of Destruction than he could, but he supposed that Vali wanted to attack Thor from two fronts. Well, she did say that they were supposed to kick Thor’s ass together, as much as they could really kick Thor’s ass. Even now, the God seemed to be humoring rather than attacking any of them seriously.
Shrugging internally, he called forth the maximum output he could currently manage and became a spear of sorts, made up of his Power of Destruction, propelled by Vali’s power, and on a crash course towards Thor, who, without even looking, raised his index finger and pushed towards the tip of his spear form, the power interaction pushing him back as Vali and Thor traded punches.
Seeing that he was about to be pushed back, albeit slowly, he called forth all the rage, despair, and resentment he had regarding Thor keeping him here for a long period of time, and just as he expected, with a war cry, he felt some kind of internal barrier break as energy from the Mother Tree flooded his body like never before, allowing him to imagine breaking Thor’s energy barrier apart, and for the first time since the fight began, he was able to read the concepts around Thor’s finger.
[Divine Lightning] and [Divine Reinforcement] were really obvious ones, and by the grace of all the energy that was being pumped within him, he could inject some of his energy into the Divine Lightning concept that was being used by Thor to keep Vali’s energy at bay.
He realised his mistake a second later, as he suddenly found Thor’s two glowing blue eyes locking onto his form. Panicking at the glare, instead of pulling back, which would have been the reasonable choice, he pushed with all he had, making the concept of his Divine Lightning glitch for just a split second, but even that split second was more than enough for beings on Vali’s level, as he was both pushed back by Thor and pulled back by Vali’s energy as the Demonic Brilliance of Evil Light, the Lucifer house Signature trait, finally penetrated the ironclad cover of Thor’s energy and hit him directly.
A massive explosion of energy covered Thor’s form, though he spied blood drops dripping down, creating sizzling noises as the God finally bled a significant amount for the first time in this fight.
Vali floated next to him, her grin kind of manic, which was understandable since she had done what was considered impossible. Injured Thor.
Then, a shiver ran down his spine as he heard a chuckle from Thor’s form, which then turned into full-bellied laughter, making him instinctively float back a bit. Vali did the same and whispered to him, “What did you do to disturb his energy?”
“I made the concept of his Divine Lightning flicker a bit.”
“Nice.” She gave him a thumbs up, even as the sound of Thor’s laughter continued to echo in the distance. “Think you can do it again?”
He gave her a deadpan look. “Are you kidding? The only reason I was able to do that was that he was taking me lightly and focused on you.”
“So? Do it again. I will draw his focus again. I got you!” She clapped him on the shoulder, looking oddly chipper for a half devil who was about to face a pissed off or maybe a combat thirsty God of Thunder. He really didn’t know which version of Thor he would prefer facing. Ideally, he never would have had to fight Thor seriously, but reality was oftentimes disappointing.
Well, since he was already in this situation now, might as well make the most of it. He had a willing guinea pig who apparently had self healing now. Seriously, did the Lucifer Clan trait just have every Pillar Bloodline trait crammed into it?
“Give me the sword?” He extended his hand, only for Vali to hide it behind her. “Nooo. I like it. Plus, it works quite well with my power.”
He rolled his eyes and made to snatch it out of her hand, only to pull his hand back at the last moment, as the silver energy acted as poison at the last moment. He glared at the cheekily grinning form of Vali, remembering that the Lucifer bloodline trait was somehow capable of poisoning Gods, Devils, and even Angels. She really had remarkable levels of control over a form of energy she had only received recently.
He really had to have a talk with her when this was all over. Really, how does one go about obtaining what was arguably the most coveted power in all of Underworld?
With this, Vali had very high chances of ruling over the entire Underworld, and even uniting the entire damned place, something that would elevate the faction above the other two with ease.
“Just gimme.” He finally yanked it out of her hand, and after looking closely at the way her power was amplifying his own, he looked at her after handing her sword back. “Can you do the same for my power, but let me be in control?”
Vali gave him a thoughtful look before asking him, “Summon the power expression you use to glitch his power.”
He did so, raising his right hand, now covered in his power, before Vali clapped his hand with a crisp high five, which he was ninety percent sure was just for show, and gave him a sliver of her power.
It was…heavy.
That was the first thing that came to mind when Vali lent him her energy, and he only had a split second to marvel at the fact that he was probably the only full devil since the death of Lucifer to ever use his power in such a manner. Vali did not count since she was a half devil and had expressly rejected his offer to become a full devil, before he felt Vali’s power completely envelop his power.
He lost connection with his own power, which was still in his hands. It was as if that was no longer his power, but something else, something foreign. It was mind boggling, and incredibly unnerving to lose control over his own energy, something he had honed and cultivated over decades of dedicated training.
“Oh, here, let me just…” Vali did something with that energy, and a moment later, he felt a connection form with that foreign energy, asking him for instructions. He tried to do the same thing he did when it was his power, and it clearly worked, without any sensory lag, which was awesome.
“This way, you won’t have to bear the burden of handling my much more powerful energy, and can still use your supercharged one.” Vali cheekily reminded him, as the laughter from above finally faded.
“Alright, show time!” Vali said before both of them floated up to look at the bleeding form of Thor, his armour torn open and an ugly gash on his chest, though it seemed to be healing in real time. Seeing the injury, he couldn't help but let out a soft, “Damn!”
“I know, right? How awesome am I?” Vali whispered back giddily. Right, for the battle maniac, this must be akin to heaven.
A/N - Mag here has been fighting for days on end, without any break in between, with the one tone goal of getting past Thor, hence his lack of notice about many subtle things happening in the background. Also, the lack of questions.
Vali here is also acting oddly because she knows that once Mag finds out about stuff, he might never want to talk to her ever again.
Thor….he has forgotten his initial goal and is now here just to sate his battle lust. After all, this is the first time since he got the new power-up that he has bled.
Hope that helps!
