♦ Topic: New Cape spotted in Brockton BayIn: Boards ► New Cape SightingsAcree (Original Poster) (Wiki Warrior)Posted On Apr 15th 2011:So, I just spotted a tinkertech armour flying around the skies of Brockton Bay, above the docks after midnight. (Don't ask what I was doing there so late at night)Whoever they were, they did not seem to have that good of a handle on flight as they continued to wobble, and veer off course. Three times they almost missed a few of the already pretty beaten up buildings.Now, they look like - THISYeah, notice anything familiar?That was my first thought too. This suit just looks like a sleeker, and smaller version of the humanoid armour that GRAND CHARIOT used to demolish the S9 (Still can't believe that happened btw) & to meet Miss Militia and hand over some kind of report.[Some say that the report was what led to the PRT finally nailing Shadow Stalker for her crimes and sending her to outright Jail, much to the outrage of the Youth Guard, but Fuck those guys :) ]Anywho, where was I? Ah, yes, new cape in town, with a fancy new suit. It looked blue and everything, and seemed to be using the same flight technology as the one Grand Chariot used.Maybe a new Tinker who managed to copy their tech?I am not a Thinker so posted this here for the experts here to weigh in.Imma go and snooze for a couple hours. Hopefully, until then, the mystery of if it was real or if I was just hallucinating will be solved.Cya!

(On Thin ICE)Replied On Apr 15th 2011:Now, wait just a gosh darned minute (Hi @Mods).I spent a few minutes analyzing the photo you posted and the many, MANY clicks available online of the suits used by Grand Chariot. Though, it would be more accurate to call them as drones, since while they do indeed posses the capability to just transport someone, they were mostly used as drones by Grand Chariot.Accurate naming scheme aside, it does seem like a similar line of robots. Now, if we had video, we would have been able to better gauge the suit's abilities, but since OP did not look to be in a stable enough condition to get good video, we can only work with what we have.Also, I am not a Thinker, but I can tell you that it is very unlikely that a new Tinker or even an Old tinker built this. See, Tinkers have specialties, and they can reign supreme in that specialty, but within that category alone.For example, a propulsion system Tinker could very well have built that suit, but to get everything else working? It would be impossible for the same tinker to do so.Piloting tech, as there is no steering to speak of.Energy source? The amount of energy required to run that thing? Off the charts.Actual Armour. It looks very well made, and if it has even half of the durability that the suits that killed S9 have, then it is most certainly tinker made.On top of that, the suits must have a ton of sensors and auxiliary tech that allows it to function in a cohesive manner. I can guarantee that this work needs the combined work of atleast 3 or more Tinkers. Probably even more.Good luck finding the same tinker specialties that the Tinkers in Grand Chariot have, to build the same thing they did, only smaller and with a different color.I think this is something that Grand Chariot built.

It could be good, or it could go bad really fast and remain that way for quite some time. There is a reason why the PRT does not give us the really high tier capes they have.It's not because they don't want the Bay to survive, although it increasingly is looking like that, but because they don't want to rock the boat too much.For crying out loud, we have the highest per capita cape concentration in the country, and possibly the world as well.The PRT probably doesn't want to risk anarchy in the streets and a total order breakdown by sending in some of the heavyweights like Alexandria and whip all the local villains up into frenzy.Oh, God. I want to leave the city ASAP, if only I could.

Secondly, even if they are thinking the way you said, then they must know that they are only prolonging the inevitable?The city is dying anyway, and no amount of band aids is going to fix that. If they are too cowardly to intervene in the current state of things, and just want to watch our slow death, then they are complicit in the crime as well.The Triumvirate is just as politically restrained as the rest of the government. The threat of a little anarchy and chaos keeps their hands tied.In fact, I would take it as a good sign that Grand Chariot will be setting up shop here. Hell, this post alone might just make the local villain groups quiet down a bit.Even if this was just a single suit, the threat of having that big ass aircraft carrier type ship landing on top of their heads would make them behave.I, for one, would be very glad if this was true, and I eagerly await any official statement from them, as all this is just some speculation.

I have read all the comments so far, and find merit in both sides of the camp.I mean, the small time of anarchy that would besiege the Bay while Grand Chariot did what they did best and deleted all the villains from the city, would be devastating to many people.I mean, we are talking about immense property damage, riots, looting, murders, deaths, infrastructure damage, missing kids and more, until Grand Chariot stabilised the situation.As long as it took them more than a few hours to sort the whole thing, the Bay would suffer immense damage.On the other hand, they HAVE shown the ability to do the same in less than an hour.If they could delete the S9 in less than an hour, then what were a few local villain groups? I mean, the most dangerous of them all is Lung, and that guy can be given the same treatment as Jack Slash before he even has time to ramp up......Huh.You know, come to think of it, Grand Chariot is REALLY scary, huh?......I will log off now.Good day.

♦ Topic: Interaction with the Hot New Cape in Brockton BayIn: Boards ► Brockton Bay CapesAcree (Original Poster) (Wiki Warrior)Posted On Jan 1st 2011:So, uh, guys, I don't have much advice to give to anyone, but if I can say one thing, then I will say that plz don't drink questionable fluids, and then straightaway go to bed without drinking atleast an entire bottle of water.The consequences can be....nasty.Anyway, let's get to the topic at hand.As I was saying, I was in the docks late at night, and then safely reached home without much issue.Now, since I am a sucker for pain, I went back near noon, and met my...friend. Sure, let's call him a friend. Now, by that point, I had almost forgotten about my PHO post, but my friend had seen it.He then proceeded to give me...THIS.Yeeessss!I was not hallucinating!On one hand, this means that the product did not function as advertised but on the other hand, it meant that I was the first to find and picture the newest cape on the block.I have decided to take the wins.Anyway, as I was saying, you can see the video recording my friend gave me, about the cape.The cape is a SHE, so there's that. Also, it is an entirely new cape and get this, they haven't even named themselves. They did not answer the question about their cape power, which was understandable, but and here's the juicy part!My friend offhandedly asked them about any possible relation to GRAND CHARIOT, and guess what?They went silent and then replied "I guess you could say that."Did ya hear that?We have Grand Chariot associated cape in the city!Now, I have read that some of you think this is gonna be bad but guys? Come on! Have you seen what they did to the S9?You think the Bay is gonna be a problem?In fact, I think it is the PRT that should be scared. They are going to be out of a job soon, after all.I say, good riddance. They did not help much outside the Broadwalk anyway.Peace out!

►Anonymour Warrior!Replied On Jan 1st 2011:@Reave Boo!You'll never catch me alive, copper!Anyway, I see that you curiously left out the part about this new cape potentially being a part of Grand Chariot.I subscribe to the theory that Grand Chariot is a group of Tinkers, headed by a Super Tinker, so I understand why they would never venture into active combat.This video, on the other hand, shows that, or atleast, the cape in question is trying to portray that there is an actual person in that suit now.They also have been portrayed as not that experienced, and new.Now, It could be a ploy on their part to come off as a newbie instead of being an experienced one.It is confusing for a couple of reasons.Number one, is why would Grand Chariot ever need to do this? Secondly, if they are new, then how did they get this suit? And if they are from Grand Chariot, why did they not outright confirm it?I can only think of positives when it comes to associating with a group that is, right now, the most powerful and dangerous in the country, with no clue whatsoever about their long term motives, their base of operations, or any of their members.The situation is such that the Government was bound to treat them with kiddie gloves.Or, maybe I am just rambling. I have been taking fewer than prescribed medications. Can't really afford the meds AND rent with only two jobs now.

Not for recreation, at the very least.Coming to the point at hand, I will be very happy to see Grand Chariot move into the Bay. The fear of another Boston Games type scenario is diminished based on what they have already portrayed.I don't think there is any villain mad enough to try and take on the same group that annihilated the S9 in a single evening, and Heartbreaker in minutes basically.In fact, from what I could piece together, ALL the heartbroken were alive and well, just restrained. That speaks volumes of their ability.I don't think they will have any issues taking over the entire city wtihout a single death, if they wanted to.Either way, I look forward to reduced crimes in the Bay, even if temporarily.After all, just this thread alone was bound to scare the criminals into hiding, and living in the Bay, I have learned to take the scant few wins we get.So, excuse me while I go get a nice, overpriced coffee and enjoy the view.Also, @Anonymour Warrior! you should really take your meds. Please check your DMs. Might as well do the Good deed of the day.

It is by design.It is my hope that the risk of that name sticking draws that particular cape to the surface of PHO.I might also gain their enmity, but they seem to be a heroic cape so far, so I am just winging the odds.Anyway, since this is my first time seeing and reporting about the actions of a cape, I have gotten kinda hyperfocused on her.So, for the past week, I have been kind of camping out in the Docks, with my friend, so I can get some more footage of this new cape of ours.Yes, stupid, I know. Staying in the docks during the day is a task, but to do so at night? Well, for some reason, BLUE SUIT does not venture out during the day.A day job? Maybe.Anyway, I saw and clicked some pics and vids on the second night itself, but I wanted to wait until I had more information.On the third night, she definitely spotted me and even waved for the camera but did not respond to my request for conversation.The fourth, the same, and the same on Friday as well.It was only on Saturday that she finally came down to meet me, and I think it was my perseveration that finally got through to her.....Yup. She definitely did not tell me that she was only talking to me because she did not want me to endanger myself any longer.Anyways, she is definitely a new cape. She is out at night to practice. She did not answer my question about Grand Chariot or her powers, just as expected. So, I did what every good reporter does and moved onto the next question.THE SUIT!I asked her about it, and she seemed kind of excited about it as well.Well, it can fly, really fast! Her words, not mine.It can also do energy blasts and more.Guys, from what I can see, those energy blasts are no joke. Most capes in the city would not be able to survive it. Hell, she told me that she expected even brutes to have a hole in their body if she used it at full power.Ah! That reminds me, she also told me that the energy blasts can range from a forceful shove TO straight up punching a hole in a brute's body.She was nice enough to let me record her punching a hole in the walls of an already run down warehouse. Now, the material was not that strong, but as you can see below, me and my friend stacked multiple concrete blocks next to each other.My friend is really strong, btw.Link, Link, JPG, MP4, LinkDISCUSS!
