–Azazel–
He walked into the meeting room, called by Odin himself, currently housing the top combat strength of the entire world, save for the Hindu Pantheon. They had rejected the meeting and sent in a single message, informing them of their choice to participate in the final battle, without worrying about the politics of it all.
Honestly, he envied their strength for that reason only. The ability to disregard the politics and focus only on the important stuff without being worried about any consequences for you or your faction was the single most coveted ability of many faction leaders.
Alas, they were not the same organisation, with multiple entries in the Top 5 most Strongest Beings in the world. The only ones who even came close were the Norse, and from what he could tell based on recent information, the Devils. Thank Father that the Devils were the most disjointed bunch out there. If, Father forbid, the Devils were a united entity, then the world would have been a vastly different place than it was now, even with all their enemies.
Off the top of his head, he could count no less than five Super Devils that the Devil race had given birth to. All beings stronger than their progenitors. Even now, with one of them dead, rot in Hell Rizevim!, the Devils still had four Super Devils on their side. He supposed that in that regard, Lucifer won over his father. Father did not create a single being who could ever surpass him. Lucifer somehow created an entire race that resulted in no less than five such specimens who could all output more power than Lucifer.
It was getting ridiculous, to the point that he wondered just what it would take to make all of them come together. At that point, either the Hindu would have to get off their high horses to deal with them, or the Infinity or Great Red would be the only opposition to a united Devil front.
Thankfully, that was not the case, and probably will never be. Even without doing anything underhanded like trying to sabotage an alliance, the Devils were so against each other that it would probably take the end of the world for them to come together.
Like right now.
Sighing, he pushed those thoughts out of his mind before taking in the assembly in front of him.
Odin. Ofcourse, since that man was half the brains of the whole operation that had led them here, and also the one who owned the venue.
Ajuka. The other half of this operation.
Sirzechs Lucifer. The Strongest Devil alive, even with Vali having the Lucifer bloodline trait.
Vali Lucifer. Representing herself, as well as the Devils that decided to follow her.
Michael and Gabriel. Two beings who, to this day, disagree with what Odin had done, hacking into Father’s System like that to get to the last bit of information he left behind. He didn't even know it was possible to hack into Father’s systems. Alas, the end of the world made Heaven overlook what was, in their opinion, a crime worthy of death.
The Greek should have been here, but after Thor beat Zeus and his entire pantheon black and blue on Odin’s orders, it was decided that Odin’s word would be law there. The less said about middle tier factions, the better. They were not even a factor for the final fight.
Then there was him. Azazel. Leader of the Fallen.
Technically, he shouldn’t even be here. He was nowhere near these people, both in terms of personal strength and in terms of faction strength.
What he did have was his mind, and Vali’s backing. When she’d learned of his reaction when he finally realised just what in the utter fuckery Ajuka and Odin had indulged in, smoking their own future sight, he had torn them a new one.
Or well, he tried to do that anyway. Breaking publicly from the Norse had been an expensive decision, but he simply could not stomach what they had done and continued working with them. The fact that a few months later, he received what he could only call the motherlode of items that Magdaran had once made, in his house, while he was sleeping no less, could only mean that Magdaran approved of his actions.
That soothed his conscience a bit. Also, the fact that Magdaran did that while being entirely undetected also relieved him, as it meant that he would not be killed in his sleep.
Vali approved of all of it, but he did not approve of Vali and what she had done. After all, from her own words, she had the one to accelerate the process, and she’d also distracted him with Thor’s fight, which forced him to pump more and more energy into his body, eventually culminating in the death of…
He sighed, sitting down at the table. “Let’s get this over with.”
There was always a lot to be done, especially with the end of the world hanging over his head. Five years might sound like a lot, but for someone whose entire faction depended on his existence, it was the most stressful thing in the world. The other factions atleast had someone else who could hold the fort while they were away.
In his case, he did it. That was it. If he died, or was away for long periods of time, or was otherwise incapacitated, then Grigori as a whole was done. Their standing would slip to be just above the Youkai, as they too had a similar power structure. Hell, even they could sometimes call upon their Gods’ favours, so technically, their position was even better than his own.
Basically, he was busy making all the preparations he could make to ensure that the Grigori could maintain the same level of standing for a while after he left. Hopefully, the Slash Dog team, as well as Vali being related to the Grigori, would stay everyone’s hands. It was kind of pathetic how, in the end, the Grigori might have to rely on humans and half humans to stave off the vultures, in case he died, which was becoming increasingly likely.
Ajuka began the meeting, without any preamble, which was expected: “The timeline has changed."
The entire atmosphere in the room changed, as he straightened up.
Ajuka continued, “Due to outside interference, our timeline has shortened drastically. We now have less than a year before the seals break down completely."
There was silence in the room for a moment before he stood up. “What? How the fuck did that happen? Who interfered? Anyone who could do that is sitting in the room right….here.”
His voice trailed off as he realised who could do it and might have motivation to do so, especially with many of the troublesome factions directly killed off the precog due sitting right in front of him, the spearheaders of the current movement, the absolute morons.
Slumping back into his seat, his exhausted voice echoed all around the meeting room, “Fuck. It’s Magdaran, isn’t it?”
He always knew that Odin’s actions were going to come back to bite all of them in the ass. Ajuka might be just as complicit in the act, but the bulk of Magdaran’s anger was going to be placed solely on Odin’s head. After all, Magdaran once looked at Odin as an ally, a friend. He did not expect Ajuka to work in his favour, but the betrayal from Odin was totally unexpected, and likely either broke the devil or created such a potent bloodthirst that he was surprised to see that no coordinated attacks had been mounted on the Norse as a whole.
So, this was going to be Magdaran’s revenge? Odin destroyed his Mother Tree, so Magdaran was going to destroy the world? A vindictive revenge with lots of collateral damage, if he had ever heard of one.
He never understood why, when Odin was done with everything, when he had chosen that Sirzechs was the more important entity to be saved, then why hadn’t he gone all the way and killed Magdaran?
After all, he had already betrayed Magdaran. What was one more betrayal? They were certainly capable of doing that at the time. So, why? It was not like Magdaran was ever going to listen to Odin after that.
He had never received an answer to his question over the years, and now, that same inaction was going to get all of them killed. He could bet his left nut that none of the people sitting here were even remotely ready to head into the Demon's maw, so to speak.
Ten years was barely enough time to get a protocol established, or a law passed, for beings of their lifespan. Now, they had to—
“No,” Vali spoke up, “It is not Magdaran. It is Aldric who is doing this. He is also a Super Devil now, and with his bloodline trait, I don’t see how he couldn't do this.”
Vali’s words rang in his head, as laughter bubbled forth. A bitter and defeated laugh.
A Zagan Super Devil? So, Mag somehow created or trained an actual Super Devil in the past five years? Turned that same meek and calm Zagan into a fucking Super Devil?!
“Ahahahahahaha,” That biter laugh turned into full blown cackling, as he bent in half, patting the table, even as tears escaped his eyes, “We are fucked. So fucked.”
Then, he slammed his hand on the table with all his might, making it flicker. “What was even the point of all this, then?!” He roared at Odin and Ajuka.
Standing up, he pointed at them. “What was even the point of betraying Magdaran, if he was capable of creating a Super Devil in less than five years?! On his own, no less? What was the fucking point of alienating someone who could do that and maybe even more if he had our support?!”
Sirzechs looked conflicted at that as well.
He continued, undeterred, “What are we going to do now? We have less than a year? What the fuck do you think you can achieve in that little time? Maybe you should go ask Magdaran. He could certainly whip up atleast another Satan Class Devil in that time if he could turn Aldric from a High Class Devil, practically a babe to us, into a Super Devil in so little time. Now, we have not one but two! Fucking two Super Devils with a vendetta against us.”
Leaning over the table, he looked Odin in the eye before saying, “You wanted to have powerful people with you when you faced the apocalypse? Congratulations, you just had your wish fulfilled early. Now, we have two monsters, of our own making, mind you, working to end the world. I never should have listened to you that day.”

–Aldric Zagan–
He looked up at the ceiling. Being bedridden and deprived of most of his Demonic Energy was certainly an experience. Even after the weekly sessions where Magdaran made him not just survive but fight on near empty reserves, he was mostly used to this. But getting used to it just meant he would not be knocked out or on death’s door.
Right now, he could barely even move his neck. There was still some time before he could use the healing water. Yeah, his teacher was really bad at naming stuff. He didn’t even try to properly name most of his creations. Then again, the name told him everything he needed to know about a certain product.
The ritual took all he had, especially once Odin entered the fray once he realised what was happening. Thankfully, he’d come prepared, and Odin was not prepared for a Divine rebuffing, as the World Tree was, essentially, hacked into doing his bidding.
With that done, they must be scrambling and likely in some meeting somewhere. Likely, in the Oppai Club.
It was such a shame he would never be able to experience that place and all it had to offer now. His teacher did speak of it in fond undertones, atleast when Magdaran would actually go there. It was a great concept, and with time, would have led to achieving some form of peace for multiple factions, his teacher had told him.
If only Odin hadn’t……
