♦ Topic: A Q&AIn: Boards ► North American Parahuman AffairsGrand Chariot (Original Poster) (Verified Cape Group)Posted On Jan 1st 2011:Hello, everyone.We have seen some of the chatter on this website, about some of the actions of a few new capes in the city that is colloquially known as the Cape Capital of America, boasting of the highest per capita cape ratio.As some of you might have caught in one of the replies we gave to a particular incessant user of this website, yes, Blue Shield is part of our group.She is the first in line of people we want to empower, in a series of steps we have outlined so that even good people have access to power.We give the members of this program a high degree of autonomy. They have acess to a wide array of resources that we can bring to bear, anywhere around the world.They can call upon us for backup, if need be. Even without that, we WILL be backing them up if they are in trouble. Let this be a warning for anyone with designs on our suits.We do not require anything from the members, save for them exercising their moral judgement and using their power for unequivocal good. The moment they stray from the path of good, their privileges will be revoked.Some of you might not be aware yet, but we have also inducted a second member for that program, and they too are from Brockton Bay.Surprisingly, for a city well known to have precarious conditions for the downtrodden, we have found two people with solid moral compasses in the same city.The second member has chosen the name WAR MACHINE, and as you will see in the links below, there is a reason why that name was chosen.Now, we are not in the business to judge their actions. We judged their moral compass, and after finding it suitable, decided to empower them. What they do with that power is up to them, provided they do good.Do note that we operate OUTSIDE of the restrictions placed upon everyone by the one with the monopoly on violence. But this time, I am stumped. This is the first time I am hearing of this new cape.A second cape with relations to Grand Chariot was expected, but not so soon.Well, brb. If not that, then we would like to formally request a meeting to discuss the deployment of your agents in major cities.There needs to be rules and regulations that have to be followed before doing this. We urge you to atleast keep an open line of communication between the PRT, so that we can handle anything that might come out of two extremely powerful capes operating in a city like Brockton BayAlso, @Bagrat! The city has been burning for years now, with a steady decline in basically everything that is not the Broadwalk recorded by everyone under the freaking sunEven then, the PRT has consistently kept the heavy hitters away from our city. Every time I see a villain go too far, and kill some PRT fellow or injure a PRT Cape, I think that THIS will be the time they bring down the hammer on these fellows.This time, they will send in someone like Legend or Alexandria. This time, they would make sure that Lung went to the place he deserves to be in. The Birdcage.But Nooo. You guys have to sit in your ivory towers, and enjoy all the perks of being the government while ignoring the plight of guys like us.Day by day, it is the same.Every day, I have to walk to work, knowing full well that it could be my last. Every day, the odds of me never reaching my shitty apartment go higher. As things are in my city, it is only a matter of time until the numbers catch up to me, and I am written off as an unfortunate casualty of Gang wars.And what will the PRT do if I die? ►Answer KeyReplied On Jan 1st 2011:Um, @Anonymour Warrior! might have a point here, but I feel we are diverting from the topic at hand.Grand Chariot is taking questions, and I want to get one in before this thread explodes with useless stuff, and they inevitably leave.Thank goodness that Void was banned before he could do anything ridiculous, like ask for a suit for himself.Anyway, @GrandChariot, I want to know more about this program of yours.Can anyone apply? What are the criteria? What do the suits do? To what length are they free to use them before you step in?Do they get training to make sure they know how to use them properly. I mean, everyone should get proper firearm training if they have one or want to own one in the future, and from what I have seen, these suits are basically a one man army packed into one.From the two photos you uploaded yourself, I can see, aside from the energy weapons that you have undoubtedly given them, multiple weapons, along with armoured slots that undoubtedly hold more weaponry.For my last question, I just wanted to ask you - WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING?!I mean, pardon my French, but what do you think will happen when you unleash THAT into my city? The gangs are already restless, and that was with you sending in a softball at the city.BLUE SHIELD is adorable, and I respect her too much to say anything bad about her. She is an angel, and works tirelessly to do the job that most law enforcement should be doing.I have first hand seen how most people in danger, and even people who were doing something wrong don't flee from her, which was the basic reaction to ANY capes approaching them, be it hero or villain.She helps EVERYONE. Druggie, mugger, beggar, homeless, victims and sometimes, even the perpetrators.I assume she has access to some kind of tech that allows her to gauge the criminal past of people, likely given to her by you, because she makes sure that first time desperate criminals get the help they wanted.Many times, it has been just parents trying to get food for their children.I know you supply her with cash, judging by the amount she gives out every single day, which is why I want to thank you for choosing HER.She is an absolute gem and we don't deserve her at all.Now, coming to this WAR MACHINE thing. What in the Nine Hells were you thinking when you unleashed THAT onto Brockton Bay?Do you really want to see our city burning that much?Because that is the only way this will end. The gangs will not let this go unanswered. Blue Shield was clearly tolerable to them, as they just moved their operations out of her way, and made sure their members did not engage with her.After all, statistically speaking, she is the LEAST likely cape to do some lasting damage to anyone, as long as they surrendered.But this?It would have been better if you had done a S9 type raid on the city, and uprooted every single gang in a single night, and THEN left behind a couple of your members to enforce the peace we would undoubtedly get, to make sure that a repeat of the Boston Games does not happen.Whatever it is that you were thinking, THIS is not the way to go about doing things if you want Brocktonites to sleep in peace.I know I won't be able to sleep tonight, not after seeing those guns, those weapons, and THAT NAME!God, it is like you WANT the gangs to attack the suit, so you have enough justification to just light up the gangs on fire.Except you don't even need that! We have a sophisticated process to filter out candidates, and we approach them after a thorough background check.@Reave - We have been clear multiple times that we have no wish to engage with the current ruling organisation. We are more than sufficient to take care of any of our members. It would not matter if the offending party was the PRT or any gang.We will take care of them all the same.We have let the members decide their next course of action, but if they are impeded, ambushed or otherwise threatened in any manner, then...Well, let's just say that we have multiple assets around the North American continent that have originally been created for the next Endbringer fight.As for the valid criticisms from the citizens of the Bay, we have only one thing to say to them.WAIT AND WATCH.
