UN, New York City

–Mike–

You just have to contact my country for that. Unfortunately, I don’t offer my services as an individual.”

He grinned as there was silence in the room before everything exploded, as he could feel the eyes of T’Chaka on the Vibranium ore he held above his head.

“Now, I know that you guys won’t just take my word for it, so I welcome any experts you can bring in about two hours to test everything about this asteroid, before I have to go back home. You see, I have much work to do. We are still a young nation.”

He could practically feel SHIELD stumbling all over themselves to get some kind of expert here. They must have plenty around here, as there were universities here, and failing that, they have Wakandans here. He was pretty sure that even if they were unable to do actual research, most Wakandans in the King’s delegation would be more than capable of identifying Vibranium.

Well, all of that is contingent on them actually admitting the source of their knowledge, and he knew that King T’Chaka was not going to do that today. Why would he? There was no benefit in doing so. T’Chaka already knew what it was, and it was entirely believable that an asteroid could be brought from the Asteroid Belt, especially since he had already messed around with the Mars Rover, giving more than enough information to the US government, and through them, to SHIELD, which leaked information like a sieve, especially to the likes of HYDRA or Wakanda.

Ah, it would be so glorious to imagine all the efforts Wakanda put into killing scientists to make sure their tech supremacy was protected, all go down the drain.

All because they would never be able to hurt him or his kingdom. Well, he shouldn't say never, but they were unlikely to do that if they valued their kingdom, that is.

After all, if a mere Chitauri army could partially get through the shield around Birnin Zana, even if they were mostly roasted in the process, then he was pretty sure that he and Ghidorah combined would be able to get past their shields with ease. Plus, with the sling ring users he will undoubtedly have under his command going forward, he wouldn’t even need to mount an outside invasion.

He could just take over their entire kingdom from the inside. Shaking his head, he just sat there cross legged, in mid air, with the Ore floating alongside him. It was not yet refined, so he could still use kinetic energy to make it float. If it had been refined properly, it would have just absorbed all that kinetic energy and dropped to the ground.

“Go on,” he gestured at everyone to move out, “I am waiting.”

Ultimately, things proceeded just like he expected them to. Multiple independent experts were called in from the surrounding areas, with many government experts arriving as well, all taking turns to scan the whole thing, all the while he kept a close eye on everyone to make sure that nothing was stolen.

He didn’t really care about losing even all of that Vibranium, as he had more than ten times that stashed back home, which was still unnamed at this moment, but he still did not want anyone here to get extra Vibranium.

All he did as everyone checked out the Vibranium, which was being kept afloat by a gust of wind, which too was being scanned by some of the people here, was keep a close watch on the time. Someone noticed it, and before long, he was being asked to give them some more time to get in-depth scans and more.

He just tuned them out. He was going to be out of here soon, and he did not want to give anyone too much of his time.

He was going to be King, after all.

“Alright! Time’s up!” He stood up as the researchers scrambled to gather their equipment, and in a particularly brave gentleman’s case, who was about to pounce on the Ore, he had to push the man away before retrieving the ore.

Flying to the door once more, despite the many requests from everyone else, he opened the door to the Pocket Dimension, chucked the VIbranium Ore inside, before clapping his hands and getting everyone’s attention.

“Alright, everyone! Today has been wonderful. I look forward to meeting you all again; only that time, it will be in my country. Tata!” Saying so, he shot straight up, breaking through multiple floors before getting to see the sunlight, and then angling himself, he shot out, accelerating rapidly, until he was barely a streak in the sky.

Hopefully, this should be enough to keep the world busy for a while. He needed only a little time to stabilise everything and make sure that the nation he was going to build would not collapse the moment he disappeared for some reason or other.

Sure, Ghidorah would probably be stationed there permanently, but Ghidorah was a brute force tool, capable of large scale destruction that could only be mimicked by some nukes, but it was no substitute for someone like him. If someone directed nukes at the island, then they would be in for a world of hurt later on, as Ghidorah had an innate sense for high density energy sources.

He was a walking, talking, spaceflight-capable weapon of mass destruction. His deterrence alone was making sure everyone maintained distance, but he was not satisfied with just that. He wanted more, and he was going to make sure his nation reached that level, where it would be able to stand on its own two feet without needing him there.

That was his dream. Well, his current dream, that is. With the many upgrades done to his body, as well as his bloodline, he was pretty sure that he was going to be living a pretty long life, and once he had kids, then he was going to be in another round of entertainment.

BUT that was for later. Right now, he had to work to make sure that if and when his kids came into this world, he would have a safe space secured for them. It would be the height of stupidity to let kids be born into this world when anyone with a different skin color could be lynched in many parts of the world for the simple crime of existing.

Shaking his head, he flew through the air, ignoring the many jets that rose up in the air alongside him, either to escort him or to intercept him. It mattered not, as either way, he was way out of their league. By the time the jets had time to accelerate to his speed, he was long gone.

Within the hour, he was halfway across the world, and according to the brainy people back on the island, as long as he did not go past a certain level and maintained altitude instead of flying close to the cities, he should be fine. It was only the initial sonic boom that he had to worry about, the rest should be fine. Well, should be fine as long as he didn't go too far. He might just shred his clothing and fly buck naked once more.

Sure, the ladies loved the show, but this was no space, and he was no Kryptonian to have that energy field around his body to safeguard his own clothing as well. Vultrimute protection extended only to the skin and not even an inch outside that. He had to rely on his wind manipulation to make sure that a cone of wind was around him, allowing him to accelerate to absurd speeds without the damaging after effects.

He smiled as he felt the island in range once more, the fog welcoming him as he navigated the white expanse with ease, and landed safely on the island itself, sighing in relief the moment his feet touched the ground, as the connection to Krakoa was restored instantly. Sure, he could always use Xavier to create a direct connection to the island, but he did not want Xavier to know of that connection at all.

Plus, as long as he was within a few hundred miles of that island, he would have a decent connection to the island. He would be able to give out all the orders, but it would be impossible for him to share his energy or syphon off energy from the island if he was not in direct contact. That was one of the limitations that he planned on solving soon enough.

All he needed were a few really smart people on the island, and all the information SHIELD had on Arc Reactors. He was pretty sure they would give him that for half a ton of Vibranium Ore. He was expecting a series of calls from the truly serious players within a few days, as he figured it should take that much time for them to parse through all the data the world had gathered on him to come up with some kind of proposal.

Man, diplomats around the world must be wide awake and afraid of the prospect of creating a trade agreement with a new country that wasn't even named yet, especially since he was going to make sure that for a trade agreement to be formalised, they needed to set foot on his nation.

It would serve many purposes, the prime of which would be controlled exposure to his world by outside people. Keeping it heavily televised would only help him, after all.

–Nick Fury–

He could do nothing but watch in silent anger as Mike flew away, quickly reaching Mach speeds, flying towards his island in the Indian Ocean, halfway across the world.

As expected, multiple units moved in to intercept him across the world, as the madman did not bother inquiring about restricted flight zones and ended up breaching American, European, Chinese, and even Indian airspaces. All of them being Nuclear Powers, everyone had to respect their jurisdiction, but the man just ignored them and their warnings, and continued to fly to his island.

His inbox was filled with warnings, reprimands, requests, and more, as the world had to bear witness to a being who had all the power and none of the weaknesses usually associated with someone like him. Sure, Banner had all the power in the world as well, but he still had a few weaknesses. Chief among them was the man’s personality and his lack of a social circle. No social support meant that the guy could be quickly isolated and, if needed, controlled quite easily.

Mike, on the other hand, spit in everyone’s faces and then flew off knowing full well that the world was going to come to him next. The ball was in their court, and unfortunately, they were going to have to play with the guy, simply because he had the one thing everyone in the modern world wanted but could only dream of before this.

Basically free space travel.

Sure, the carrier was a humanoid shaped monster, but even that would be tremendously helpful. Even if it would take a while for NASA to approve astronauts to be taken into space using that method, if Mike could transport satellites and parts of a space station to Mars and beyond, then it would help tremendously.

The less said about the most lucrative part of the deal, the better.

Vibranium. The most valuable material on the planet.

They barely had a few dozen pounds of that material. The guy openly showcased over a ton of Vibranium Ore, confirmed by multiple experts from multiple countries and organisations, and dangled a very juicy bait in front of everyone.

If his words of there being more were true, then Mike had just become the most important person in the world and for such a person, acknowledging his own nation would be a non issue. If only he hadn’t openly declared his intentions of creating a mutant safe haven, then he would already be on a plane towards that island, with basically a blank check in hand.

Even so, armed with that information, he was going to be able to browbeat many of the Senators with anti-mutant ideas in their mind. After all, in their world, ideology came second. Money trumped all, and Mike had just become the freaking Golden Goose now.

Shaking his head, he turned to Coulson, “Get me every single strategy that the eggheads can cook up. I have to go meet the President now. Make sure a viable strategy is in my hands before I meet him. We need to make sure we are the first ones in line. Do you understand, Coulson?”

Coulson nodded, “Yes, sir.” Before marching off, understanding the gravity of the situation.

–Mike–

Charles was the first one to meet him, rolling in his path. “That was quite the speech. I have monitored overall sentiment, and things seem to be going according to plan.”

He raised an eyebrow as he walked alongside the man. “You sound like you had doubts about my plan?”

“A little,” Xavier admitted. “But seeing you play everyone like a fiddle, some modicum of faith has been restored, I must admit.”

“Well, Professor, stay around, and you will see more of where that came from, I can assure you.” He saluted the Professor before moving towards what was basically the HR department of his new country.

Only this HR department was the hardest working department, and was spearheaded by Magneto and Ororo. Both of them worked surprisingly well when the topic at hand was mutants and their safety and well being.

Magneto made sure that anyone who came here knew what was at stake, and what would happen to them should they squander the once in a lifetime opportunity they were handed, and Ororo was here to make sure that the one who did understand the enormity of the current situation they were well taken care of.

Even before turning around the corner, he knew that only absolute mayhem existed behind that door. He dreaded opening the door, but he knew he couldn't turn back now. Maybe once the country was self-sufficient, he could afford to shirk off his duties, but right now, he had to push that door open and suffer through the absolute deluge of questions, inquiries, and pending decisions that had his name written all over them.

___xx___

He sighed, wiping some non-existent sweat off his eyebrows, as he looked at the amused looking Magneto and openly smiling Ororo, as they were both sitting on the other end of the table, quietly enjoying his misery. Since both of them now had competent assistants chosen from the pool of people they had reduced, they were both free to enjoy his misery.

“Enjoying my misery, are you?”

Ororo replied with a smile, “Well, you are the one who decided that you were going to be King. God King Mike.”

He groaned out loud, “Oh my god, I blurted that out one time. One time! I didn’t really mean anything by it.”

“No. No. Please, by all means. Become a God King. I would love to know what a God King actually is.”

He slumped in his seat, looking straight up at the white ceiling, utterly exhausted by the six hours of paperwork he had to go through. There were not just documents he had to sign or stamp. There were discussions, questions to be answered, and those answers to be revised based on new information and more.

Despite already hashing out most of the important stuff with Magneto and Charles way before they began taking in people, there was a lot of smaller stuff that had to be addressed before people began taking matters into their own hands.

And that was not something he wanted for his nation.

He wanted his nation to be a really high trust society, even if it was not a homogeneous one. He wanted people to trust their kids with the outdoors for hours on end, without having a panic attack. He wanted those kids to have the best safety, and services. The best food to eat. The best water to drink. The cleanest air to breathe.

He wanted his nation to be the envy of the world, and more importantly, have the strength to project what was undoubtedly going to be the envy of the world.

For that, his strength alone was not going to work. He needed the strength of others as well, and once the whole administrative work was straightened out, he was going to ask Magneto to create a training regimen for the newbies.

He was pretty sure many of them must be chomping at the bit for revenge. Even with his experience, he was not going to let Magneto head the armed forces of his country. He did not really trust Magneto to handle everything with the care and proportionality that it deserved.

They were no longer a ragtag group of mutants under the control of a really powerful mutant warlord. They were going to be a proper nation, and for that, everyone had to follow rules, not just the subjects.

It was a different matter if it was written in the rules themselves that one person could choose to disregard any of the rules if he so wished.

“Ah, that reminds me.” He straightened up, making both Magneto and Ororo straighten up as well and look at him with serious expressions.

He snorted at the abrupt change in countenance before replying, “We don’t have a name for our nation. We need a name, and I propose we keep the process democratic. Start taking suggestions for the name. We will have our first referendum for the name of our glorious nation.”

Ororo smiled at that before standing up and bowing at him, “As you command, your Highness, God King Michael!”

“Get out!”
