When my sister and I saw this in theaters, there was a *cricket* that would not stop chirping for the entire second half of the movie. (It may have been around for the whole time though; I first noticed it during the scene in the movie that had *intentional* cricket noises, because I was confused why one of the crickets sounded so off-key). Anyway, I've been waiting for it to come to streaming because I wanted to watch it again *without* the cricket, and also because I knew you would love it and I wanted to see your reaction. I very rarely cry, but this movie got me *twice*, and of course the fight scenes are as gorgeous as ever. This is best way to spend my Tuesday night.

Fun fact : kaigaku is in two backstories! He is shown in past seasons briefly. Once with zenitsu, and the other is with gyomei! kaigaku is the same orphan kid that led the demon to gyomeis hut and caused all those deaths. After that incident, he went to gramps and zenitsu!

I feel so much for Shinobu when she's talking about her body. Having worked and trained in physical fitness for 2 decades, one of the most crushing things for both me and many of my clients is being a slave to genetics. There's some things your body can't ever do even if you want it to.

There's something about Kaigaku that was left out of the anime that I think should've been included. He was abandoned at an orphanage as a baby by his mother, with only a magatama tied around his neck. Gyomei later tells him that the magatama is a charm of protection carved from jade(valueble) and that means his mother truly wished the best for him otherwise she would've sold it. Kaigaku rebuffs this saying "If she truly loved me she wouldn't have left me!" yet never takes off the charm. He survives so many things he shouldn't have through the series, and it isn't till Zenitsu cuts off his head that you see the charm fall off(he kept it even as a demon)
