Heya all!

Fair warning - it'll be a bit before I can really get around to this, but I like to start planning things several months before I start. And, even after I do, it'll be early access for a while. That said, I am looking at two options for what my next series will be.  (There's always a chance I swap stuff up or the like - this isn't binding etc etc. Just thinking).

Option 1 - A new take on magic schools that I've seen almost none of - the MC is a beloved teacher that is reincarnated into the body of an awful professor at a magic school. It'll follow him as he learns magic and tries to help his class of students become strong mages - despite not knowing how to use magic himself. Comedy / wholesome, with a dash of some more fun serious undertones in the background.

Option 2 - My take on the Souls-like genre in novel form, but Actus style. AKA, huge overwhelming odds and massive monsters that don't go down easily (with the MC having some sort of retry / respawn system), but still lighthearted elements and things won't get too gritty even if the odds are stacked against the MC.

I am currently leaning toward one of these more than the other, but I think both would be really fun. This poll *won't* be 100% of the reason I go one way or the other. I might choose the losing option, but it will factor into my decision.

Cheers all!

The teacher idea kind of reminds me of Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor (at least from the 3 clips I've seen of the show)

Actus

Yeah. I tried watching that show, but I couldn’t stand any of the characters, hahaha.

Andy Gray

Probably a good idea lol, what about a timeloop magic professor story?

Wilson Lessley

I voted teacher, but both sound incredibly interesting! If you decide on the dark souls story, then I hope that the deaths aren’t free, and act as a non-permanent setback

LORD SHAXX

I'll be honest the professor sounds interesting and something I would actually read. Whilst the other sounds a bit meh I guess. Something I would put on my reading list but never actually read.

Actus

Yeah, I’d probably do something similar to how it actually works in DS where you lose experience from your current level. Possibly more, I would need to put a lot of thought into the system.

Actus

Noted. You’re the patron that’s been around the longest, so I’ll keep your words in mind ;)

LORD SHAXX

Thanks. I hope I didn't come across as too mean Towards the end.

Paperfox

Voted souls but honestly, I'll read it either way so I guess us readers are going to win no matter what. Both sound awesome!

Bunny Waffles

Between the two, I think the teacher one seems more interesting. Not to say that I wouldn't be interested in the Dark Souls-esque one, but given the choice I'd go with the teacher.

Conrad Wong

What if you combine the two? Teacher at a school that teaches adventurers how to deal with Souls-like dungeon bosses. ^.^

Actus

I - huh. Shit, that’s kind of a good idea… I’ll be looking into this.
