I mean, Onyx definitely needed therapy, like last week, so getting him in isn't the problem, it's the lack of his input in the whole process 😭😭 here's hoping he realizes that Keane is legitimately just trying to help and not ship him off somewhere

i think……. i need to let this series marinate a bit. i can’t with the back and forth. was really looking forward to the communication but now there’s another misunderstanding. love the series, but this is a very long story and i see no happy ending in sight for quite awhile. i’m lowkey a little tired at this point. hopefully growth comes from this and quickly.

Honestly I can see how this needed to happen and I hope that while he is in there that the therapist flat out makes him acknowledge how hes guilt tripping Keane because of his own insecurities. 😟 something that onyx needs to come to terms with is that he projects his insecurities at Keane a lot and its unfair for him to do that and then turn around and be upset with keane for having any kind of feelings about it. Like I hope Keane does wait out there till onyx is done and that when he comes out he can at least apologize for talking to him like as if he doesn't really care. Cause like what else can he really expect keane to do.. i hope they can hug it out soon. My heart hurts from this story.

I feel like this is "failing forward." Which means it wasn't the answer to the problem, but a step in the right direction. They are both still very young adults who went through A LOT in the last few years. They cannot be the each other's salvation, that's not how life actually works. They both have to grow if they want life to get better. If that means growing as friends instead of lovers, I'd rather that instead of them running the relationship into the ground.

Oh Onyx. Keane got the right idea but it was wrong to surprise him with this. Onyx needs help but i doubt that he will see it only after many sessions

This feels like a cheap trick to add more drama to the series WHEN WE'VE HAD MORE THAN ENOUGH! After all they've been through...why?? I'm definitely an advocate for therapy (I kept mentioning this the last few chapters), but this approach feels wrong. Keane means well, but a conversation first would've lessened the blow.

Welp. Here's my heart on a platter. Stick a fork in me I'm done. 😭😭😭 I'm not leaving, that's for damn sure, but ugh, my heart! The hard part is that I understand where Onyx is coming from. When and where I grew up, it was colloquially illegal to be anything but straight (meaning everyone was pretty much a homophobe), and therapy was a threat, a punishment, rather than the help and hope it was supposed to be. I struggled with the idea of going to therapy even into my mid-late 20s. Keane, buddy, your heart is in the right place, but you basically just ambushed him and put poor Onyx on the defensive immediately.

Surprise therapy is not the plot twist I was expecting but tbh I’m not mad about it. I think Onyx will realize he really needs it and Keane’s heart is in the right place.

I think people aren’t really realising that Keane KNOWS that if he had of asked or told Onyx about this beforehand that Onyx would never have gone and probably just would have put some distance between them anyway. He knew that he needed an intervention because he’s so traumatised that everything comes across negative regardless of the persons original intentions 💔 at least now he can be getting the help while there’s this misunderstanding rather than just avoiding each other and not getting the help anyway right?

It's kinda sh*t that he just dragged him there but I understand why and oxyx is overreacting. At this point it's not that Keane cannot help onyx its that onyx is making excuses to just stay in the hole that has been created. I wish he could just see that therapy is the best option he has to live a normal happy life with Keane

Of course what onyx’s dad did to him would traumatize him I feel so bad for him that he thinks holding hands with keane and someone sees that they’re going to say something I get being in public you’re with your partner and you think people are looking at you weird or something or you think that someone’s going to hurt you cause they’re homophobic it’s a real fear and it’s so sad that we have to think like that cause people can be so evil

I always thought when onyx got together with keane that onyx kinda acts like he hates keane or like he’s not very affectionate with him and it comes off like keane likes him more but it makes sense if onyx has felt like this this whole time of being guilty with being with keane cause of how his dad treated him and with people just being homophobic in general I guess he’s always on edge cause he can’t fully relax with keane and just be happy with him

I know that every character has their reasons for saying and doing what they do. But Keane and Onyx are not in a good relationship. Keane is the only one trying and Onyx is in his head. My problem with that is that the story has been like this for years. Even a slow burn needs to burn and I would seriously like to be witness to some progress.

Inspired by the commenter: Sinnanoroll, here's my hot take. Kaxel is better than the main pair. Think about it. Onyx had a bad childhood(horrible parents n crushed dreams), and a bully, but had a best friend[plus Keane's mom] who tried to help, while dealing with his romantic feelings. Axel got attacked by a pedophile, has shit parents, and is dealing with internalized homophobia. Kai has horrible parents too, but a sister who cares, he's wealthy, and doesn't let his dad ruin his life. Keane is a well rounded, untroubled guy. This is a perfectly fine set up, until you realize that 90% of Keane's problems and life choices revolves around Onyx. Onyx is traumatized and needs to grow, but constantly makes decisions to avoid his problems, hence, making them worse for everyone. At least Axel uses his past to motivate him to be better in life. We also see him slowly let Kai in. He takes responsibility for his actions. He may avoid direct confrontation BUT he constantly provides clarity. Kai doesn't force his way into Axel's life. Yes, he can be an ass, but he does it in good faith and knows when to back off. He apologizes for overstepping, avoids crushing boundaries, and checks on the people he cares about. Keane does the same thing as Kai, but slightly worse. Keane being oblivious(and a hot head) at times is understandable and not really a big deal. The problems arise you realize that Keane is so obsessed with Onyx that he followed him across colleges. He hunted the guy down from pure worry and kept demanding clarity from Onyx. Which is ONLY justified because of Onyx's dumb behavior. Did you notice that this game of cat and mouse has repeated since they discovered their feelings for each other? Despite HOW MANY EPISODES?! Keane has been chasing Onyx for too long. At this stage, they need to break up, or Onyx changes because he doesn't deserve Keane, and Keane doesn't deserve a selfish partner. No, Kaxel aren't an item but at least they respect each other, have normal interactions, and can EXIST comfortably around each other despite their past. You got The Spiraling Problem[Onyx] + The Obessive, Lovesick Puppy[Keane] vs The Opening Closet[Axel] + The Nonchalant Soldier[Kai]. And credit to Keane, he did TRY to move on once(the anon chat), but fate brought them back together. Aside from doing the most, Keane dead ass has no faults. Onyx is his problem and we're all sick of it. That's why Kaxel is a breath of fresh air. Same characters with double ended spice that actually grow TOGETHER. Unlike the nightmare that is Keonyx.
