Horrifically Overpowered Class Features for Pathfinder 1e - The Paladin (Patreon)
Content
I am continuing the work to create Horrifically Overpowered core class features, which began with Horrifically Overpowered Fighter Class Features (which covers why I still do Horrifically Overpowered products and articles, and gives the Horrifically Overpowered Class Feature feat to access these class features). Today, we're doing Horrifically Overpowered Paladin Class Features.
Paying members of this Patreon also have access to an Index of Horrifically Overpowered Content, which I will update every time a new Horrifically Overpowered products or article goes up.
Horrifically Overpowered Paladin Class Features
You access these class features with the Horrifically Overpowered Class Feature feat (see the Fighter article, or Index).
(Paladins tend to look awesome under any ruleset but, trust me, this one is Horrifically Overpowered. Art by warmtail.)
Horrifically Overpowered Paladin Class Skills (Horrifically Overpowered): For all your paladin class skills, you can use your highest ability score to determine your total bonus, rather than the ability score normally associated with the skill, to a maximum ability score bonus equal to your paladin class level.
Horrifically Overpowered Cleric Weapon and Armor Proficiency (Horrifically Overpowered): When using a simple or martial weapon, your attack is considered to have the descriptors of your alignment for purposes of bypassing DR (normally Lawful and Good). The AC bonus you receive from light, medium, or heavy armor, and from shields other than tower shields, applies against touch attacks and incorporeal attacks from creatures with alignment elements opposed to your alignment (normally chaos and evil), to a maximum armor bonus against such attacks equal to your paladin class level.
Horrifically Overpowered Aura of Good (Horrifically Overpowered): Against the target of your smite evil ability, your attacks are also axiomatic and holy, as the magic weapon qualities.
Horrifically Overpowered and Honestly Quite Annoying for the GM Detect Evil (Horrifically Overpowered): Whenever you comes within 10 feet of a source of evil, you receives an immediate Sense Motive skill check to become aware the creature, item, or area is evil. The DC for this is the same as the DC to overcome a Bluff attempted by the creature or other source (grant other sources Bluff bonuses equal to 1.5x their caster level, if any). This check should be made in secret by the GM.
Horrifically Overpowered Smite Evil (Horrifically Overpowered): When you activate your smite evil ability, in addition to the target of your smite evil it applies to every evil creature within 60 feet of you when you activate it. You do not automatically know if other creatures are subject to your smite evil, though you do learn they are if you make an attack against them or they are caught in the area of your smite evil. A smite evil you activate remains running until all affected creatures are slain, or you next regain uses of this ability.
Horrifically Overpowered Divine Grace (Horrifically Overpowered): You can use your highest ability modifier in place of your Charisma modified for divine grace. Against spells, spell-like and supernatural abilities with the evil descriptor, or from evil dragons, outsiders and undead, you gain SR equal to 10 + your paladin level + your highest ability modifier. (For supernatural abilities, the caster level is equal to the level, CR, or HD of the evil source, whichever is highest).
Horrifically Overpowered Lay on Hands (Horrifically Overpowered): Your lay on hands can bring recently slain creatures back to life. If used upon a creature that has died within 2 rounds, apply the healing from this ability to the creature. If the healed creature's hit point total is at a negative amount less than its Constitution score, it comes back to life and stabilizes at its new hit point total. If the creature's hit point total is at a negative amount equal to or greater than its Constitution score, the creature remains dead. Creatures brought back to life through Horrifically Overpowered lay on hands gain a temporary negative level that lasts for 1 day. Creatures slain by death effects cannot be saved by Horrifically Overpowered lay on hands.
Horrifically Overpowered Aura of Courage (Horrifically Overpowered): Each day you can select one effect that you can cure with a mercy. You are immune to the selected effect, and grant allies within 10 feet a +4 bonus to saves against that effect.
Horrifically Overpowered Divine Health (Horrifically Overpowered): You are also immune to all poisons, and grant allies within 10 feet a +4 bonus to saves against poisons.
Horrifically Overpowered Mercy (Horrifically Overpowered): Each day when you regain uses of your lay on hands ability, you can select your mercies from all mercies available to you.
Horrifically Overpowered Channel Positive Energy (Horrifically Overpowered): When you channel positive energy, all creatures healed by it are also affected by any effect that a recipient of your lay on hands gets (including mercies and, if you have it, the benefits of horrifically overpowered lay on hands).
Horrifically Overpowered Divine Bond (Horrifically Overpowered): Select any two divine bonds you have as available choices (normally weapon bond and steed bond). You receive both benefits.
Horrifically Overpowered Aura of Resolve (Horrifically Overpowered): You are immune to all compulsion spells and spell-like abilities, and each ally within 10 feet of you gain a +4 morale bonus on saving throws against compulsion effects.
Horrifically Overpowered Aura of Justice (Horrifically Overpowered): You and any ally that use the smite evil you grant them gain smite evil bonuses against any creatures targeted by the smite evil of you and all your allies. These bonuses do not stack if you and an ally target the same creature with smite evil.
Horrifically Overpowered Aura of Faith (Horrifically Overpowered): You and every ally within 60 feet threat your attacks as if they were holy.
Horrifically Overpowered Aura of Righteousness (Horrifically Overpowered): You and all allies within 30 feel gain hardness 10 against the attacks, spells, and abilities of evil creatures.
Horrifically Overpowered Holy Champion (Horrifically Overpowered): You gain the lesser blessing (as the warpriest) of every domain granted by your deity. You treat your paladin level as your warpriest level for these blessings (including when determining how often you can use blessings each day). You gain Quicken Blessing as a bonus feat, without having to meet its prerequisites.
