Horrifically Overpowered Class Features for Pathfinder 1e - The Hunter (Paid Patron Excusive!) (Patreon)
Content
Here's the next in my series of paying-member-exclusive Thursday posts (sorry about it going up n Sunday - I promise I'm doing my best), Horrifically Overpowered Class Features for the Hybrid and Occult character classes of Pathfinder 1st edition. This goes along with the paying-member-exclusive Index of Horrifically Overpowered Content, which I will update every time a new Horrifically Overpowered products or article goes up. The index also has the Horrifically Overpowered Feat I suggest using to allow characters to access these HO class features.
This week, we're tackling the Hunter. If you would like to see different paying-patron-exclusive content in the future, let me know!\
(When choosing art of overpowered hunters, it's important to remember they ARE spellcasters! Art by grandfailure.)
Horrifically Overpowered Hunter Class Skills (Horrifically Overpowered): You gain 2 extra skill points per level. You animal companion does not have any skill points, but it gets all the skill ranks in all the skills you have. Note that many animal companions lack the appendages to use some skills (a wild boar can't normally make a Heal check unless is has something in the way of hands), and still often won't choose to use some skills unless the hunter tells them to.
Horrifically Overpowered Weapon and Armor Proficiency (Horrifically Overpowered): When you wield a weapon you are proficient with through the hunter class, any time your animal companion makes an attack they can use the best factors of their natural attack, or your weapon attack (using the best base damage, best threat range, best critical multiplied, and best magic enhancement and weapon qualities),
When you wear armor you are proficient with through the hunter class, your animal companion can use the best factors of their armor or yours (armor bonus, speed reduction, armor check penalty, maximum Dexterity bonus, and magic enhancement bonuses or armor qualities).
Horrifically Overpowered Animal Companion (Horrifically Overpowered): You gain a second animal companion. Both your animal companions benefit from your animal focus. They do not need to choose the same focuses. Your animal companions gain additional bonuses from the Automatic Bonus Progression rules, using your hunter level to determine the bonuses.
Horrifically Overpowered Animal Focus (Horrifically Overpowered): The aspects granted by this ability always apply to you, just as if a normal hunter’s companion were dead. If your animal companion dies, you can apply an additional animal focus aspect to yourself full time. If you have a second animal companion from Horrifically Overpowered Animal Companion and both are dead, you gain a third animal focus aspect. Also, if both your animal companions die, the rest of the party will think you're a terrible fur parent.
Horrifically Overpowered Nature Training (Horrifically Overpowered): You gain any 1st level class feature of the druid or ranger class (or is granted at 1st level by a druid or ranger archetype). You can't use this to gain an additional animal companion (we have Horrifically Overpowered Animal Companion for that), but can use it to gain other 1st-level options that can be taken in place of anima companion (such as non-companion options for nature's bond). If you gain additional spells (such as by taking a domain), they are treated as additional spells known, and you gain an additional spell slot at each spell level where you already have a spell slot and the new class feature would you a new spell.
Horrifically Overpowered Wild Empathy (Horrifically Overpowered): You may use wild empathy as a form of observation and mimicry, or you may use complex movements and gestures to change an animal's attitude. You add your Wisdom or Dexterity modifier +3 as the bonus for your wild empathy checks, and can attempt wild empathy as a move action.
Horrifically Overpowered Precise Companion (Horrifically Overpowered): The first attack each round you make that hits a target that is threatened by or has been damaged this round by your animal companion deals sneak attack damage equal to a rogue with a level equal to your hunter level.
Horrifically Overpowered Track (Horrifically Overpowered): As long as a creature leaves tracks on the ground, you cannot fail to track it. You can also track creatures moving through water (-10 to your Survival check), air (-20 to your Survival check), and even teleporting or changing planes (-30 to your Survival check).
Anytime you successfully track a creature, you can also make a check to identify the creatures and it's special powers of vulnerabilities. The DC for this check is calculated as it is for Knowledge kills, but you can use either the appropriate Knowledge skill or Survival to make he check, whichever is better. If using Survival, you are also allowed to add any appropriate bonuses from favored knowledge and favored terrain.
Horrifically Overpowered Hunter Tactics (Horrifically Overpowered): Your animal companion also automatically gains every combat feat you know. It may not have the mental or physical capacity to use some feats (a swallow might have Throw Anything, but that doesn't mean it can toss coconuts at things).
Horrifically Overpowered Teamwork Feats (Horrifically Overpowered): You (and your animal companion) gain all teamwork feats you meet the prerequisites for.
Horrifically Overpowered Improved Empathic Link (Horrifically Overpowered): You are not blind while using your empathic link, and it functions at any range as long as you are on the same plane as your companion.
Horrifically Overpowered Woodland Stride (Horrifically Overpowered): Natural terrain features that grant concealment or cover less that total concealment or cover to not affect your (or your animal companion's) Perception or attacks.
Horrifically Overpowered Bonus Tricks (Horrifically Overpowered): Your animal companion gains all tricks. When you successfully use Handle Animal to handle an animal, you can get it to use any trick, not just tricks it knows.
Horrifically Overpowered Second Animal Focus (Horrifically Overpowered): In addition to your animal companion having two focuses, and you having access to a second focus, you can give any one ally you touch a single animal focus. It must be one of the aspects your animal companion has.
Horrifically Overpowered Swift Tracker (Horrifically Overpowered): You are never at penalties to tracking based on speed. As a move or swift action, you can make a Survival check against all creatures w2ithin 30 feet. If you succeed at the DC to track a creature, you know it's location as if you were using tremorsense (30 feet) until your next round.
Horrifically Overpowered Raise Animal Companion (Horrifically Overpowered): Your raise animal companion has no limitation on what creatures it can target, and works like true resurrection (Sp).
Horrifically Overpowered Speak With Master (Horrifically Overpowered): You and your animal companion can both speak, read, and understand any language either of you know. You and your naimal companion can communicate telepathically at any range as long as you are on the same plane. You have a permanent speak with animals that automatically restores itself in one round if it is dispelled.
Horrifically Overpowered Greater Empathic Link (Horrifically Overpowered): You can communicate telepathically and look through the eyes of your animal companion at any range, even on other planes. Each day, you can choose on willing companion to be able to communicate with using the normal greater empathic link rules.
Horrifically Overpowered One With the Wild (Horrifically Overpowered): One with the wild always applies to all creatures of the animal type. Also, even if one is magically compelled to attack you, you get to make a Will save against the effect compelling them and, if your check beats its save DC, that creature will not attack you as a result of that compulsion.
The normal effects of one with the wild now also prevent magical beasts and plants from attacking you unless magically compelled.
Horrifically Overpowered Master Hunter (Horrifically Overpowered): You can always take 20 on tracking checks without taking any extra time to do so. You gain an additional aspect of animal focus for yourself and your animal companion that is always active.
