You get to decide what's next for the 2024 sheets. There's plenty left on the to-do list, so help me pick what should be at to the top of that list.

"Magic Items (SRD/DMG)" were the clear winner from the previous "What to Transcribe Next" poll (part 2). With all of those now done, I'm again coming to you for advice.

Something that I could focus on next, is getting all the legacy content working in the 2024 sheets. With “legacy content” I’m referring to material from 5e sourcebooks that has not been reprinted for the 2024 rules. For example, the Nature Domain subclass for the Cleric, which appears in the 5e PHB, but not in the 2024 PHB.

As all this content has already been transcribed for the 5e (2014) sheet, it is a matter of determining which should and which shouldn’t be made available for the 2024 sheet, as well as updating some old syntax and removing things that are no longer applicable in the 2024 rules (e.g. ability score increases from race).

This should be a relatively quick process, as the v24 sheet is fully backwards compatible and I have no intentions of rewriting all the content that has already been transcribed.

The 8 subclasses, 18 backgrounds, 34 feats, 19 spells, and 2 magic items from Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerûn.

The artificer class and its 5 subclasses, 17 backgrounds, 28 feats, 5 species, 1 spell, and 9 magic items from Eberron: Forge of the Artificer.

The 7 subclasses, 4 backgrounds, 11 feats, 4 species, and 2 magic items from Ravenloft: The Horrors Within.

The 8 subclasses, 33 spells, 10 backgrounds, 20+ feats, and 47 magic items from Arcana Unleashed.

Add the creatures specific to summon spells, like Summon Dragon and Summon Fey, to the Companion page and make it possible to scale them to a set spell slot level.

The 5.5e (2024) rules includes many spells that can summon a creature specific to that spell, a stat block that scales with the level of the spell slot used. These creatures aren't currently part of the character sheets because the companion page doesn't support such scaling.

Content not mentioned in this poll will come later. Not necessarily after everything in this poll is done, but certainly after whatever wins this poll has been completed.

If you are looking for WotC publications that came out after the 2024 PHB, I can recommend checking out the fan-made add-on scripts using the Community Add-On Script Index. Those add-on scripts should work with the 2024 sheet without issue as it is fully backwards-compatible.

As much as I'd personally prefer the legacy stuff be done with first, i think it makes more sense to get to a good place with the 2024 material (before more of it comes in) in its sheet.

Considering the result of the previous poll, I fully expect legacy content to come out on top this time. Although I expect Arcana Unleashed to also be a strong candidate. Even with two new contenders that might take first place, the voting in these first 40 minutes doesn't seem to favour them.

I would love the ability to have a new "booklet" format for the character sheets.

Layout changes are not on the table at the moment I'm afraid. Creating another layout takes a lot of time and it is unlikely that I'll attempt it anytime soon.

I'm definitely a legacy content vote just so I can remove the ~4 extra scripts I currently need to list all the options now.

Out of curiosity, would the legacy content update/complete install for 2024 also include all the magic items from older adventures since those are 2024 legal? Or would we have to install those separately?

morepurplemorebetter

The intention is to include everything that is currently transcribed from the WotC 5e (2014) content available in the 2024 sheet, unless it has been reprinted in a 2024 source. Thus yes, also all the magic items from adventures are going to be included.

i would love to have the sheets work with owlbear rodeo dynamically that would make our table loose their minds

morepurplemorebetter

That would be awesome! But unfortunately a PDF can't be dynamically linked like that unless you have the paid version: Adobe Acrobat Pro. And even then it is a huge pain to accomplish. Linking to online platforms is more something for the planned (but nowhere near finished enough to show) web-app version of my sheets to address in due time.

I would go with either Forgotten Realm: Heroes of Fearun or Arcana Unleashed. I lean more heavily to the Former as I quite a few Bladesingers I would like to update, and I now am playing a 5th level Paladin of the Glory of the Genies.
