Hello everyone, Hawktober 2019 is officially over and done with, bloody mental. I honestly can't believe that one even got finished to be honest because it was just such a wild time. Unfortunately shit is still a bit wild which I'll get into shortly, but still, positive vibes all around. Thank you all so much for allowing me to create this special, THAT is the part most special to me!

PLEASE leave some questions/topics for the November Patreon Podcast! Keep in mind, there will be a Making-of Hawktober video episode on the way this month, so I will probably save that production discussion for that video. Cheers!

November Plans) The original plan for November was to immediately follow Hawktober with a Medievil series review covering the sequel, Resurrection and the recent remake. Sad to say that is simply impossible at this point so that will be shelved until first quarter 2020. In the meantime, I'm hoping to get back underway with Ty Episodes 5 and 6 in time for Christmas. So while I work on those, uploads could get a little shaky again. However this is the current plan for November:

  • Game Testing/Mail unboxing video
  • CTR Grand Prix episode
  • Super quick video asking for public Q&A questions*
  • The Q&A I was planning for September*
  • Possibly the equipment showcase video I've discussed previously*

*The order and existence of these is entirely dependent on how busy I am/how much time I'm realistically able to write and film this month.
Ty series review takes absolute priority over everything else right now, because I really... REALLY... want that finished. it's beyond a joke at this point. However I am not rushing anything to meet a Christmas deadline. If it has to drop January 1st, then so fucking be it. As long as it gets finished before we move onto future projects.

Life After Hawktober) This event was something else major. Never in my life have I worked such consistent, long hours for such an extended period of time. To say I'm burnt out is an understatement, I honestly feel like total shit because of it. THAT SAID, I do have motivation to work on stuff, just not reviews, which obviously conflicts with wanting to get Ty done ASAP. So we'll just see how that goes. But on top of that, without going into specifics of course, the shitty reality of life hit me like a brick wall in the past week, with all the same shit that hit me hard at the beginning of Hawktober production back in late August... so that is just S U P E R D O O P E R !!! 🙃

Everything will be ok, it's just really planted me into a tricky, difficult position to try and keep myself healthy. Making videos keeps me healthy mentally and these things are really getting in the way of being able to do that. Like I always say, for me, taking a break is actually worse than working through the burnout. So yeah, that's the sad reality of that just for the sake of transparency about what is going on with the channel. I'm hoping I can configure some description of a change in living conditions that can finally help get things back on track for 2020. That is the number one goal!

------------------------------------------

Closing Thoughts) I think I'll leave it at that for now so that I can get back into working on this Making-of episode (I can't play games and record them in my free time, because all my hard drives are FULL with Hawktober and Ty files. So I need to finish up so I can delete everything). DON'T FORGET to drop some Podcast questions below! And until next week, thanks for reading and I hope you have a great fucking day. Cheers!

Question for the podcast: Why has Alek not been in videos for such a long time?

Dream Mix

This Hawktober was epic. I just became a $5 patron because of it. You definitely deserve more viewers on your videos, so I've been sharing, liking, and commenting on all of them to get the algorithm to agree with you. lol. Hopefully some of that has helped. Either way, if you're interested, I'd like to PM you sometime about Patreon. I really want to see you succeed dude, so I'd love to help in any way possible. You seem to be putting in the passion, so I'll try my best to help you out. Not sure what you mean about reality of life, but I'm assuming you're talking about how much shit costs, and wanting to move out. Shit's tough man, and it took me a long time to get to where I am where I can survive off of Patreon / gamedev stuff alone. I wish you the best of luck.

I’m wondering if you think you’ll have any time at all to do a Christmas special or not. Thanks for Hawktober by the way, it was honestly awesome to see all that time, money and effort well spent on one of the best channel specials on YouTube.

SquareEyedJak

Absolutely not I'm afraid. I might go into some more detail on the podcast, but getting Ty done is priority and there is easily another 4-6 weeks left in that. Even if it was finished tomorrow, like I mentioned above, I'm sick of reviews at the moment. Keen for a break! :)

Jak - How about getting some extra External Hard Drives? Would free up space on your main hard drive and give you some extra storage for your files. Found some listings on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com.au/s?k=Hard+Drive&rh=n%3A4913352051&ref=nb_sb_noss Good luck with getting so much stuff done - You've gotten through so much already and made some great videos for us all to watch. I'm sure that any new videos will be just as great, no matter how long we may have to wait for them. Cheers :)

SquareEyedJak

Yeah I need some new ones. Already got 5 externals with a max capacity of like 25TB with just under a full TB occupied with Hawktober and Ty reviews

Look after yourself. As much as well love these videos you do, your health and mental state should always come first.

Bloody hell! When I used to record myself playing video games many many years ago for youtube, I used to have a computer with only about 37 GB total disk space. I had to delete alot of my games just to free up space to record and after recording one video, I would have to delete that to make room for the next one. Though, everything was 240 quality back then or 360 if really good. To have that much backup really shows how good the quality of the footage is and how much work you've got to get through. Though always good to have backup video footage though, I find. Then you can cut back to it, if need be in future videos or for count down lists and what have you.
