G'day everyone, hope you've all been doing well this fine September. Happy to report that progress on Hawktober this year has been bloody swell for once! It's reached the point in production now where I can just kinda cruise knowing it will be finished on time for once! Feels good! 😁

FEATURE in the video END CARD!) Something I've wanted to introduce for a long time is a quick "community creations" section in the outro of each new video so I've decided Hawktober is the best place to start with that! Of course there are limited spots available for Hawktober but the goal is to have enough work come in that can be featured in future videos as well.
So please don't be shy! Send me some artwork related to skating and the channel, a picture of you rocking some SEJ merch and also... I am accepting SKATE CLIPS! 🛹

Hawktober Progress) This year I'm doing a total of 6 videos, 4 of which are already completed at the time of writing. Legit in the past 7 days, I have edited all of them, smashing some out in a single session which is pretty crazy. I'm feeling a little burnout this week hence why I've given myself a few days rest (also have stuff going on) but I'm incredibly satisfied with the project so far. The theme this year is...

Pro Skater ALTERNATIVES!!

It's been very interesting exploring many of the games featured, some of which I've waited years and years to finally check out. There are no big crazy ass long videos but the entire week will feature about an hour or so of content, hopefully people are interested and all goes well.

Speaking of merch stuff, I've got a friend working on a few more designs. Hawktober and skate culture inspired but more graphic/grotesque in the spirit of Halloween month. I'm hoping to see them available next month for purchase so stay tuned on the channel and my social media!

General Life Stuff/Little Vent) Things have been going really well which is a nice change of pace to this time 12 months ago. Excuse me as I get a bit off of my chest here. But yeah... this time last year I was made homeless so it's been a little bit emotional lately as I get reminded of those hard times. I'm constantly referencing last year's Hawktober in this years special so I go back and see the footage of my basic setup on mum's couch, I get embarrassed about it but I really shouldn't. We made do, the show must go on as they say and as hard as it is to accept some days, I am proud of what I've accomplished these past few turbulent years. 

Has the channel suffered in the process? Absolutely.

Views aren't nearly where they should be at for a channel of this size but given I'm much more established in life and have my feet on the ground, I'm hoping to see that start to change over the years to come because I'm still incredibly passionate about making videos! 😊

In other news, I'll be taking a break for pretty much all of October due to PAX AUS as we're hosting a large group of friends from interstate during that time. Right after all that, I'll be travelling to visit family back home for a week at the end of the month. So videos might be a little slow coming out of that period but I can assure you I've got plenty of ideas flowing and TOO MANY games in that damn testing box. So things shouldn't take long to get back up to full speed again!

Closing Thoughts) It's nice to be back in the swing of things. Both work wise and also just being able to enjoy some games in my down time. Coming off of Destruction Derby, I ended up playing all the way through Split/Second which was a tough challenge but incredibly satisfying! Maybe I'll review that sometime in the future.
