Hi Rachel, your paintings are Amazing ! I would like to try the Alpaca. Do you have a reference picture or an outline ? Thanks again for sharing your videos !

Laëtitia Pinson

Also, what type of brushes do you use for your first layer and for the fur ? I'm a beginner and struggling with that too ;)

Thank you so much! I don't have a reference for this one but I'll create a line drawing for you tomorrow :) I'm also painting another alpaca this week that I'll film and upload soon, so I'll make sure I also upload the reference and line drawing for that too :)

For the fur I usually use a large pointed brush, I bought it ages ago and I can't seem to find the exact one that I've got, but any large(ish) pointed brush should work well for fur. I find it's much easier to create the effect of fur, rather than using a small brush to paint every hair. For the first layer I usually use the same brush, or sometimes I'll use a flat brush. I'll mainly just see what feels the most comfortable with what I'm painting. I hope this helps :)

Many thanks for your quick answers that really helps ! I was wondering about your magical brush ;) have a nice day , your paintings are just gorgeous !

You are such a gifted artist, your work is absolutely stunning ! I am just beginning, this is the king of work I want to do, what are some fundamental resources you can share ? And the realism in the eyes and nose of your pieces make them alive, where do I learn to create that. STUNNING !!!

Hi Donna, thank you so much! Is there anything specific you would like help with? Or just resources in general? Watching lots of videos and practising as often as you can is one of the best things you can do :) But if there's anything specific let me know and I'm happy to help! I love painting eyes and noses (they're always my favourite part of a painting). I have a tutorial that shows you how to paint a tiger's eye, this is helpful because you can use the same technique for most animal eyes. It's on my Patreon in the 'animal eyes' section. If it's helpful I can create an animal nose tutorial? Maybe a dog's nose or something? Let me know :) Thanks! Rachel
