Ethereum validator revenue has been experiencing a significant decline.

A few reasons I see for this

1) L2's canabalizing the L1

2) Chain usage falling

3) There's been discussion around MEV, where transactions can be reordered or included in blocks for profit, which might not directly benefit validators in all scenarios, especially if the MEV is captured by other entities or if it leads to lower overall transaction fees due to competition or optimization.

4) With the reduction in fees, the revenue from staking (which includes both the rewards for validating transactions and the issuance of new ETH) might not be sufficient to cover the inflation rate of ETH, leading to concerns about the long-term profitability for validators.

This is very unusual mid bull when other chain adoption is going to the moon. I am pretty sure if I see this, alarm bells must be going off in Vitalik's mind.

These comments are amazing…old tech. Crazy. Scary low. Blah blah blah. All while the number of validators continues to increase. Please explain that. Try adding value to a conversation for once.

What happens to the price of SOL when 1/2 the eth $$ finds a faster/ cheaper home🤔

I am not surprised. Anyone with half a brain would know that it is a ripoff. I used it twice and every time the fees were a total fleecing.

ETH was always shit sorry for the people that are getting rekt but with a $30 fee to transfer $100 you can get to F**k shitcoin

The idea of ETH is ok, but Henry Ford didnt invent the car, he was just the 1st to mass produce it at an affordable cost. theres better tech than ETH

ETH may turn out to be like Netscape Navigator, the discontinued proprietary web browser. But will Solana be like the Google Chrome of 2024, in say 2030? Quite probably not? As James says, keep your tap dancing shoes on and be on the most disruptive, fastest horse.

Imagine if ETH holders decide to sell up for SOL

If you consider the long-term plan for Ethereum, I doubt Vitalik's concerns are the same as James'. Imagine it scaling to a network of thousands of L2s (ZK and permissionless) on an increasingly more decentralized, secure, and efficient L1. SOL has a place, but we're still early.

I am very grateful to have the research from James and his team to be out of the poor performers and be in the top performers. Thank you @investanswers for keeping us informed. :)

I finally got rid of my last ETHs. All converted to SOL.
