As we have been warning, ICE is dying and dying fast.

In 2025, electric vehicles (EVs) in China are projected to outsell internal combustion engine (ICE) cars for the first time, marking a pivotal moment in automotive history. This shift is expected to see EV sales reach over 12 million units, significantly surpassing the 5.9 million sold in 2022.

Traditional car sales in China are forecasted to decrease by over 10% to below 11 million in 2025, down from 14.8 million in 2022, highlighting a rapid transition to electric mobility.

China's dominance in EVs indicates its success in technology development and supply chain control, leading to cost reductions and lower consumer prices. This trend is set to influence global markets, putting extreme pressure on Western car manufacturers and potentially killing most in the transition.

Why It's Profound:

As the world's largest car market, China's trends often dictate global automotive directions. The rapid adoption of EVs could accelerate the global shift towards electric vehicles, pushing other countries to enhance their EV infrastructure and policy support to keep pace.

The intense competition among Chinese EV makers is fostering innovation, which could lead to technological advancements exported worldwide, affecting how cars are designed, produced, and sold globally. ONLY TESLA stands in the way!

If a chinese car maker licenses FSD first,,,, it is game over for the rest.

BYD. The best Chinese EV cars. Catching fire since 2008. Buy buy buy!!! No thank you, I like my fireplace in cozy house not on the road or in parking lot next to my car with my family. Fuuu chinese cars. (BYD buses are EV torches too...) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOA7qKMcjcE

What is a good entry price for Tesla? When it tests the 20wk MA?

While I’m 100% confident in TSLAs prospects long term, and they’ll do great in EVs, I’m not convinced that EV dominance overall is inevitable versus ICE. Doomberg and Robert Bryce on Substack are great sources for in depth energy policy analysis particularly as it relates to EVs and so called renewables.

I’m guessing this is all powered by the wealthy in China, I thought the majority of people in the big cities live in huge apartment buildings with little access to charging. Can someone confirm?

I don't believe this data ... Everything in china is suspect .

We will be forced into EVs by our stupid governments nett zero policy’s. No new ICE after 2030 it’s utter bs

Dan Harris

Yeah, it's a shame there is still so much coal powering EV. So much more needs to be done. But China is actually on target to produce 60% of all global renewable energy in the next 5 years, which is wild. But still, coal is responsible for about 60% of their power. This really shows just how dismal the rest of world is overall in this regard (but also China sucks). Shame.

Not in the UK. 2030 target for all EV pushed to 2035. Literally zero infrastructure and so not practical.
