WB is a legend but his portfolio right now is a mess.

Here are my views of his Portfolio Flaws and he goes against the grain of my investing rules.

Cash Hoard: While strategic, the $330 billion in cash is underutilized, potentially missing out on returns or eroding in value due to inflation. Saylor says Berkshire is losing $40BN a year in debasement.

Far Too Many Holdings: 49 holdings dilutes focus and complicates management, especially with the tiny allocations. Granted I too have a few crumbs but they are SOL Alts.

Many Teeny Holdings: Fragmented, small positions (below 0.1% of the portfolio) are nuts.

Legacy Companies: While American Express, Bank of America, and Apple are not "dying," they face industry-specific risks (competition, crypto, lack of innovation, etc) that could impact their long-term performance.

AMEX no growth

Bank of America - no growth

Apple - no innovation

A new SE phone w USB C charging cable!!!  He sold half of his Apple Bag by the way.

Now, he could be a genius sitting on all that cash if we can an armageddon type crash... and swoop in and buy Tesla at $200 - both are hypotheticals, however.

Surely Visa, Mastercard and “High Street” banking names will be a thing of the past soon?

Crypto-Cephalon

I would find it difficult to criticise a portfolio worth a fraction of that. Say all you want but the man is filthy rich. So who cares?!
