Yesterday the Spanish blackout caused an estimated $3–$4.95 billion in economic damage in just 24 hours.

A Tesla Megapack system sized at 500 MWh (~130 units) could have provided the synthetic inertia buffer needed to avoid collapse.

  • Total system cost: ~$198.66 million — yielding a cost-benefit ratio of 1:18.5.

  • Full deployment across U.S. and EU grids would require ~36 GWh storage (~9,231 Megapacks), generating $9.6 billion in revenue.

  • Tesla Energy’s net profit from such a deployment: ~$1.44 billion, with TSLA stock estimated to rise ~$29.25/share.

Tesla is emerging as a foundational energy infrastructure player, not just an AI, Autonomy Robotics company.

PS the Australians have been buying them hand over fist for years now!
