Investing Rule: “Money for Nothing” – The Infinite Leverage Glitch
When I was young, there was a song that always stuck in my head, and it was a song by Dire Straits called Money for Nothing. I was a young teenager, and they didn't know much, but I knew if I focused long enough, I would find a way to create money for nothing. That's been my obsession for 40 years. When I had had enough, I decided that since I was retired, I would try to find a way to help others figure this out - hence MATH MONEY FREEDOM the mantra of this community.
And the reason I write this rule today is because people are confused about why I would sell my microstrategy for Tesla. This rule is trying to explain yet another one of my infinite money glitches or simply put, money for nothing.
"When asymmetric upside meets structured leverage, you create value where others see none. That’s money for nothing—if you stick to your edge and your rules." IA 2025
Explanation:
When you identify deeply asymmetric trades (like MicroStrategy at $17) and rotate profits into highly convex opportunities (like 5x-levered synthetic Tesla longs at $13 cost basis using MSTR as my FIAT), I am not chasing gains—I AM COMPOUNDING MY CAPITAL
By adhering to my strict discipline:
Rotate between asymmetric bets at perfect times
Reallocate into higher upside plays with defined risk
Use options and synthetics to control exposure, amplify gains, and keep cash flexible
I am engineering leverage and compounding via optionality. This is how it was so easy for me to understand what Saylor was doing in 2020 before anybody else.
HOW IT WORKS:
I don’t violate my risk mgt rules
I maximize capital efficiency.
I let math and asymmetric returns do the heavy lifting—creating my “money for nothing”
