  • Robotaxi Launch Timeline: Musk confirmed Tesla is sticking to the end-of-June launch timeline for robotaxis in Austin, Texas, with plans to have 1,000 robotaxis operational by the end of the month. Tesla owners will be able to rent out their vehicles as robotaxis, similar to an Airbnb model.

  • FSD Licensing Talks: Musk revealed Tesla is in discussions with major automakers to license its Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology. This is when TSLA becomes a SAAS company.

  • Optimus Production: Pilot production of the Optimus humanoid robot has already begun, with Musk believing it could become the biggest product of all time, potentially 10 times larger than any other product on the planet.

  • FSD Supervised Capabilities: Tesla posted about its FSD Supervised system, highlighting its ability to interpret and adapt to unexpected scenarios in real-time, suggesting it could make steering wheels obsolete and emphasizing that once experienced, users won’t want to revert to non-FSD vehicles.

Curious, how does Tesla stack up against https://waymo.com/ FSD taxi? I know there are way more cards in the hand than this, but I see people mention that waymo is already doing this. Curious on everyone's thoughts.

The argument about why Tesla is better than Waymo has been had — suggest you go and research that (it won’t take long!) and subscribe to Brighter With Herbert on YT. But in short: Waymo needs expensive kit (radar/lidar) on top of an expensive vehicle. The unit economics don’t work for scaling hence so few Waymos. Oh, and their system isn’t intelligent, everything requires pre-mapping. You can’t drop a Waymo in a new city and expect it to drive. Tesla uses just cameras (eyes) and a neural net (brain), just like a human driver. The system gets more increasingly intelligent and the unit economics means it can be scaled easily. When Tesla create the Cybercab at low cost and high volume, this whole thing takes off . But even before that with Model Y and 3’s being Robotaxis Tesla still has a more scalable and cost advantageous solution.

Also talk of moving fsd regulation to a federal level, so one approval and all of US is up for grabs.
