Dubai has emerged as the top global destination for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals seeking new domiciles, surpassing the United States, which now ranks second.

Most folks are exiting places like UK and China.

Real Estate in Italy is stupid cheap right now.

This is outside Venice on 7.5 acres and costs less than a studio in SF

I know, personally, two people already that relocated to Tuscany. House in a mid size town with good access to Pisa and Florence cities (and airports). Cost of living 1/3 of their original place. Standard of living up big time. Good weather good food good people. Taxes so so.

This must be excluding heaps of countries

Taxes might be so so, but for the very rich, quite good. There was a scheme where by you paid a lump sum, which covered you for everything, (capital gains, inheritance, world wide income and investments) A clear benefit is that it is simple. It was to encourage the wealthy to come to Italy, and the scheme lasts for 10 years. It started off being 100 000 euros, but I presume because it was successful it has now gone up to to 200 000 Euros, lump sum per year.

Thailand just made crypto cgt free and about to reverse a tax rule so any overseas earnings are tax free if you bring into Thailand within 2 years of earning. Cost of living is dirt cheap, visas easy to get (5 year DTV is around 350 USD) - very attractive imo.

Boolish

I have a thought. Isn’t there a drawback of when an influx of rich people coming into the backyards of the locals shoot up property prices in the long term and will raise prices in a way it becomes unaffordable for the locals? It already happens in Dubai.

Take Portugal for instance. Experts in the Real Estate business conveniently say not really. Well, it does. Locals cannot buy more affordable property as a result and prices are stupidly going up as I write. The rich just buy without arguing the price. Even renting has become a forbidden place. One gets a job, albeit seasonal and there are no longer properties available.

Switzerland is the best. It's really nice there

I moved from the UK to Bulgaria, super cheap housing and one of the cheapest costs of living in Europe. 10% cgt, but not for everyone.

See you at lake Como Amigo & beautiful Istria on the other side of Venice. Cleaner Adriatic sea, great fresh sea food, 😁🌞🍷🎶

I wouldn’t relocate to the UAE if you paid me. Full of Rolex-wearing show-offs wearing garish designer gear. I’ll stick to Europe thanks.
