Exciting News: Nvidia Hits $4 Trillion Market Cap

Nvidia (NVDA) has made history by becoming the first publicly traded company to surpass a $4 trillion market capitalization during intraday trading on July 9, 2025. This milestone underscores Nvidia's dominant role in the artificial intelligence (AI) sector, particularly with its GPUs powering data centers and AI applications.

Nvidia now constitutes approximately 4% of my investment portfolio. That $88 oppty was a gift.

Tesla's Position and Potential

In contrast, Tesla (TSLA) currently has a market capitalization of around $959 billion, making it the 11th most valuable company globally. Despite its significant contributions to electric vehicles, energy storage, and autonomous driving technologies, Bots, Tesla's valuation remains below the trillion-dollar mark which means it has a lot of upside and this is the game I am playing. Patience is required. Given Tesla's involvement in multiple high-growth sectors, there is substantial potential for it to one day be the largest company on Earth

Technology's Influence on the S&P 500

The Information Technology sector is the largest within the S&P 500, accounting for approximately 29.37% of the index. I believe Artificial intelligence companies will one day make up 60 to 90% of the S&P market cap.

Sold nvda to buy more tesla. Good idea?

Congrats on your excellent entry. Do you have thought on rotating into NVDA or obtaining an allocation as a percentage of a portfolio? NVDA and TSLA are top 2 AI plays.

NVDA is one of my biggest winners. Cost basis $8.32 per share, still holding.

We are living in a time where we are going to break "their" curses and break through to the side that the masses demand truth and power!

I assume that's what James wants on his headstone? "Nvidia at $88 was a gift"

Listening to Jodi Visser. His thesis is that AI’s rapid advancement will disrupt traditional companies, particularly Fortune 500 firms, by drastically reducing headcount, and enabling zero-person startups and massive efficiency gains, leading to a “graveyard” for incumbents in the 2030s as they struggle to compete or go private, stalling public market growth. This economic reset, driven by AI’s labor displacement and creative destruction, will erode trust in fiat systems as governments print money to offset societal impacts, pushing capital toward Bitcoin as a hedge and the “S&P 500 of the future.” Stablecoins will accelerate crypto’s network effects, bridging fiat and digital economies, while corporate Bitcoin adoption and underperforming fiat investments further drive capital flows. Bottom line: Bitcoin as the ultimate beneficiary of AI-driven disruption.

James, didn’t you once mention that TSLA plans on using NVDA for a short term before they start making their own chips?

I agree with this post, though I feel it’s a bit too late for me to get into NVIDIA now. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the cash to invest when the opportunity presented itself. As a result, my main bet is on Tesla — though I do have concerns about Elon Musk’s increasing focus on politics. While this doesn’t change my long-term outlook for the company, it’s clear that his political engagement is weighing on Tesla’s valuation. The stock would likely be trading higher if not for some of these distractions. Elon could engage in politics the way many CEOs do — more discreetly, without putting both himself and the company so directly in the spotlight. But as the saying goes, you take the good with the bad and weigh which side wins out. In the long run, I still believe Tesla will perform well.
