Won’t this be due to alt season in August most likely? Regardless of anything else though, it is unscientific to keep making estimates from insufficient historical data from only 3 previous cycles. You are a mathematical person James and you well understand the notion of statistical significance.

August flat? August BTC returns during bull years: 2021: 13% 2017: 64% 2013: 32% The average of all years muddies the data. Don't count August out yet.

This is an excellent point. The earliest cycle is useless to use as a basis when you're practically starting from zero, so throw that out. And James is always saying 2021 was a manipulated cycle (aren't they all?), but that one according to him is also often to be disregarded. You're left with a cycle or two to compare with, back when the world was a very different place. This type of analysis really doesn't hold much water.
