AI Voice Scams... the new Attack Vector (Patreon)

PS in 2021 I used to say "dont even trust your own Mom on the phone, it could be a fake Mom!" and here we are!!!! NEVER GIVE ANYTHING TO ANYONE.

AI Voice Scam _ WARN YOUR FAMILY

A Florida woman got scammed out of $15,000 after getting a phone call that sounded exactly like her daughter crying. The voice said she’d been in a car crash and needed bail money. A fake "lawyer" then got on the line and demanded cash.

The woman believed it because the voice sounded just like her daughter. But it was actually a scam using AI to clone her daughter's voice—likely from videos online.

She later found out her real daughter was fine and at work. Now she's warning others.

How to Protect Yourself (Simple Tips)

• Have a family code word – something only you all know. Ask for it if someone calls in a panic.

• Hang up and call back – use a number you trust, not the one that called.

• Ask personal questions – things only your real family would know. Fave book, toy, pet, thing to do

• Request a video call – much harder for scammers to fake in real time. REM if a scammer calls pretending to be me, ask them to turn on FACETIME!!!! Easiest way to get them to hang up.

• Double-check with others – call a sibling, spouse, or friend.

• Don’t rush to send money – panic and pressure are big red flags. ALWAYS WAIT A DAY AND VERIFY ALL FIRST>

• Think before sharing videos – scammers can use them to clone your voice.

If something feels off, stop and verify. And report scams to the FTC or FBI.
