This is crazy, the new low-income definition in the Bay Area, California, is $111,700.

In the Bay Area, the average rent for a one-bedroom apartment in San Francisco is around $3,000/month ($36,000/year). For a family needing a larger space (e.g., a two-bedroom apartment), costs can easily exceed $4,000/month ($48,000/year). At $111,700 annually, housing alone could consume 43% or more of gross income, far exceeding the recommended 30% threshold for affordability

Plus 111K is about $55 an hour.

Where do you all love to live that isn’t a place where 111K is considered low income? I need inspiration and ideas…

The sad thing is those who are saddled with massive student loans just to make 100K & think they finally got a good paying job just to find out still can't afford anything. It's sad. So many people are suffering due to the greed of those who rigged our debt based monetary system in early the 1900s, the federal reserve & the countless politicians who accelerated the debasement of our currency. As Lyn Alden says, NOTHING STOPS THIS TRAIN.

That is unaffordable

That's like a top 1% earner in New Zealand haha

The situation in the Bay Area is both frustrating and unsustainable. This is why I believe everyone there should consider joining the Invest Answers Patreon by James 😉 it might offer a chance to earn enough to cope with the exorbitant cost of living. I grew up in Foster City but was priced out of that paradise over 20 years ago due to these very issues. Now, I’m happily settled in Utah, where the affordability and warm, family-friendly community perfectly suit my lifestyle. ✌️

Sf is a tax on the stupid! Crowded, Syringes, shit everywhere, homeless everywhere. Once a great city, now just an over priced cesspool.

Yikes! Who would ever live there if they didn't have to?
