Rule #74 - Invest to Buy Back Time, Not Just Wealth

“The future is a maybe. Today is a gift. Do what you love while you still can.”

Your time is your most precious, non-renewable asset. No salary, no job title, and no future plan can guarantee joy or peace if you delay it for “someday.” Both my story and Ent’s stories are sobering reminders: tomorrow isn’t promised.

Life’s rule is simple:

  • Choose work that brings you meaning now—not later. If you love what you do, you never work a day in your life!

  • Build relationships while they’re still here.

  • Invest in moments, not just in markets.

If what you're doing drains your spirit, the price is too high—no matter the paycheck.

“Investing isn’t about getting rich. It’s about getting free.”

You don’t invest just to beat the market. You invest so that your time belongs to you. Financial independence means having the power to say “no” to what drains you and “yes” to what fulfills you.

Mr Ent, may your father, the legend, Rest in Peace!

Exactly why I stay focused on investing…to one day spend more time with my kids.

When I was younger I was annoyed my dad never played with me much, and I resented that we didn't spend much time together. However, now that I'm older I see all the sacrifices he made for our family. Never take things for granted. My dad woke up at 4am every day and got home around 7 or 8pm to provide for us over 40 years. I try and treat him and mum as much as possible now.

Great reminder, I love investing FT but need to transition to future dreams soon. Be well all🙏🏼
