While I know this may ruffle some feathers—and yes, I’m about to call somebody’s baby ugly—this was inspired by a friend with a touch of “Elon syndrome” who spent $145,000 on a Porsche Taycan. The problem? It’s set to depreciate heavily, reviews are horrific, and the data backs it up. I’m not trying to offend anyone, but if this information can save someone from making a costly financial mistake, it’s worth sharing.
THE DATA
This is a ranking of vehicles that performed least favorably based on factors such as customer reviews, depreciation and resale value, and average days of supply on dealer lots.

The key takeaway is this: purchasing a vehicle is a significant financial decision. In some cases, buying a pre-owned model or opting for a lease can be a more cost-effective choice.
However, it is important to be mindful of rapid changes in the automotive market — many vehicles are already, or soon will be, technologically obsolete. The only models likely to remain current are those capable of receiving ongoing software updates and autonomous driving capabilities (only 1 Brand does that).
