Expansion is happening fast.... Elon was not kidding when he felt half the US population could be serviced by end of year. Texas is 10%. Bay Area is 2.5% etc

Tesla is hiring autonomous vehicle operators in Queens to test self-driving prototypes and collect road data. Pay: $25.25–$33.66/hr (+10% for night shifts) Includes Tesla stock eligibility. The Robotaxi rollout is heading east.

I bet there'll be carjacking attempts on the very first day.

Hi . I’m new here but would like opinions if I should decrease my 401K contribution and start to buy Tesla stock at current prices. Thanks all!

Hariom

Elon makes a lot of promises.

How certain are we that Tesla will allow us to use our teslas in their robotaxi network? Wouldn’t it better for them to use only company-owner cars in the fleet?

Romeczek

It’s great that Tesla is expanding the areas where they train their system, but the key questions are: 1. When will the Robotaxi receive its first official authorization to operate without a safety driver? 2. Will Tesla take 100% legal responsibility for any accidents once the Robotaxi is driving fully autonomously? 3. Since the system relies solely on cameras, what happens if visibility is suddenly lost due to blinding light, heavy rain, or the cameras being obstructed by mud or debris?

1. I hope soon :) 2. Yes, that's the idea. Anything else defeats the purpose. 3. It stops with warning lights on.

I predict attacks on the cars and the operators in NY. 😔

Grant

I’m shocked and saddened that US citizens have this mindset where attacks on people or property is normal. It is NOT normal. In ScotIand I’d be excited and looking forward to seeing the future right before my eyes. I’d never think of the vehicles or staff being attacked. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

ROBOTAXI will be a lot safer the subways.

Going to be interesting to see the maintenance/repair numbers after a few months of driving on Queens roads. Most cars deteriorate rapidly there compared to other places, even within NY. NYC roads are notorious with vehicle eating potholes.

Lol, carjacking a self-driving car. That has to be the dumbest thing ever. It's on camera and has built-in GPS tracking. No chance of making money and getting away with it.
