Since mid-July 2025, a lot of Ethereum (ETH) holders are trying to unstake their coins. On July 15, when ETH was worth about $3,000, no one was waiting to unstake. But now, by mid-August, almost 900,000 ETH (around $4 billion) is lined up to leave the staking system. This is about 2.5% of all the ETH that’s staked.

Why do people unstake? To sell!

Some feel it could drive sell pressure.

Thanks James. Please Update us with Solana's unstaking amounts in the next 6 months.

Yep, ETH is slow and expensive while Sol is lightning fast and cheap for transaction. Only ETH is close to ATH and Sol cannot hold above $200 even for 5 days. Congrats to anyone who sold during the brief time Sol went to $294.And yes, all is relative to a certain time frame. The interesting part is that Sol was doing way better when it wasn't so fast, dominant and widely used.

Hope is not a strategy

They will sell their ETH to buy SOL which can be staked at a much higher rate. Makes sense.

Why are you so against ETH James? The narrative has changed ever since Tom Lee started his treasury with Bitminer.

Man if i held i woulda jumped ship the second that it hit 4k

Selling because they have been trapped so they can get out and get into Solana 😁

Both Ethereum and Solana can generate yield, but Ethereum offers far more options, making it more attractive for earning interest, especially for institutions.

How long does it take for staked ethereum and solana to become unstaked?

James, Tom Lee is super bullish on Eth, what does he see/ believe that you don’t and vice versa?

Yeah I sold my bag at 3.8k, some regret but I wouldn't have sold for more than 4k
