VW will halt production of the ID.4 EV in the US from the end of October & temporarily send home employees due to slumping sales figures for the electric SUV.

How long the production pause will last is likely to depend on the market.

Considering Tesla is coming out with their Model 2 - I have a funny feeling they may just exit the market.

If Tesla drives itself and u will never drive another car only a Tesla , then why would I need a driving license when it's not u who will be driving.???

Michael

In South Africa here and sadly no ways we will ever get Tesla here :(

Chewie

Yet all the news is Tesla not doing well instead. Folks not believe me when I say ICE will be a novelty in future like Nokia post iPhone when I tell them

Bad for usa, maybe is too expensive to produce a car with all the tariff and bullshit.the plan of trump to make business build in usa to avoid tariff is failing miserably. Trump is a loose cannon, you don't know what he will do next🤷

Adam Toth

If your supply chain is mostly imports, yes, tariffs are bad for you. If you make the most american-made cars like Tesla, ie you localize your suppliers, tariffs don't make a big difference. Tariffs are a push to localize production of parts not just end products.

ID4 is the number 3 best selling EV in Europe in 2025, just behind the Model Y and 3. I don't think it's going anywhere. As for a Tesla Model 2? That's at least 5 years away from production.

Time for that Short position huh?

Nobody is buying Tesla in Europe due to Musk being a horrendous human person. Don’t believe me? Figures below. Country-by-Country: July 2025 vs July 2024 • Sweden: –86% • Denmark: –52% • France: –27% • Netherlands: –62% • Belgium: –58% • Italy: –5% • Portugal: –49%

Sad but true. Ev sales over all is increasing in Europe but Tesla sales are decreasing a lot.

And in big cities- why would you buy a car if you can use a robotaxi and avoid all the hustle and costs associated with owning a car in NYC for example- expanding garage space, insurance, registration costs. That’s where we are heading. You will own nothing and be happy;(

Mac

You can be a big fan of Tesla and their technologies especially FSD but reality is electric vehicles are not suitable for long trips and rural markets. Yes you can travel across the country but only if you stick to the corridors of best supercharger infrastructure. And ice cars are freedom- with electric cars they can easily block you from charging your car beyond “your zone”. I know “conspiracy theory “ but that could be the future

After you short it, please post proof of your short in Discord.

what about cybertruck slumping sales 😕

Michael

Sadly I don’t think most people will be able to afford long trips in the future. What ever is cheaper will win the auto race. If the world opens up there markets to Chinese ev they will win. The world will have to pick a side.
