Stellantis has been spinning out of control for a long time - I cannot see them alive without massive bailouts in 3 years....

  • They have $50BN in DEBT

  • Their products are not selling.

  • They survive on 3% margins - which is about to be lit up

  • Gross margins in long term decline

  • Half of revenue comes from USA and that market is whacked.

  • SUVs, such as the Grand Wagoneer are hopeless and not selling

  • Fiat 500 not selling except in Italy - but it is the worst value for money car ever.

  • Maserati about to be smoked by The new Roadster.

So i looked it up. They have 38 billion in debt and 35 billion in cash. Not say its correct , but thats what available data i saw. I think They did a 20 billion dollar stock buy back in 22-23 and paid a dividend . So i think they have had some rough water bc of Carlos bad decision and government squeezing the evo requirements.. The problem with all autos. They require a lot of capital for model change over all the time.. And supply chain issues can throw a wrench into it. Every new presidential administration we get new requirements .. I disagree with James on the future of ice. Until battery technology gets better , and nuclear power is embraced we are not even close to being ready for large numbers of electric vehicles.. We are a decade away minimum . Not to mention data centers are now consuming electricity at an alarming rate. The hidden cost of this power grid upgrade is going to cost the consumer a lot of money. But the government will probably just print money and give it to the electric providers.. James always says everything mean reverts. I think Trump has reverted the insane evo requirements of auto ,ag, and trucking industries . I do agree that traditional car manufacturers have to get prices down. I think consumers have reached the tipping point . I work in auto industry.. Another huge issue is design issues with the new engines and transmission.. The evo requirements have pushed the auto into making engines that will meet the requirements , but don't last. Even down to the thin oil and start stop technology.. All bad ideas forced on the manufacturer by evo requirements..

Will Stellantis disengage from the US market by 2030? It is quite possible. And with it domestic brands like Jeep and Chrysler will collapse. But Stellantis is a European company: an alliance between 2 of the largest world auto manufacturers: Fiat and PSA (Peugeot/Citroen). I don't foresee that going anywhere.
