This is not a rule du jour but something that hit me hard today.... Think and Grow Rich (1937), which became one of the best-selling success books of all time.

The book was more about Philosophy over investing: Hill focused on principles of personal achievement, mindset, and wealth-building strategies.

A key quote of his was:

"A man without purpose is in the devil’s control"

Napoleon Hill

It always stuck with me. Even after retiring in 2020.... I could not do it for long as I feared having no purpose... You could actually attribute Napolean Hill for me doing what I do now. A few of you will understand why I share this today of all days...... but remember the key takeaway:

  • stay busy,

  • stay active,

  • have a purpose-driven life. This is the most rewarding life.

Make sure your loved ones do also, or else they could go down a dark path.

Great book, need to reread it again, I picked up a copy of it again recently at a bookstore sale. Richest Man in Babylon, another good short re-read.

The book by the same author “Think Your Way to Wealth” is descriptive. Think and grow rich is more prescriptive.

Think and Grow Rich. I read this book 10 years ago, I have to say it was one of the most impactful literature I have ever come across in my entire life and set me on a trajectory to mental and spiritual liberation that cannot be match by any other written text thus far.

I LIKE THIS CONCEPT very much! I find similar concepts in a book I value called "The Power of Your Subconscious Mind" by Joseph Murphy which teaches similar principles very well.
