They'll announce their interest rate decision and a summary of their plans at 2 p.m. Eastern Time (that's 6 p.m. in London), followed by a chat with Fed boss Jerome Powell at 2:30 p.m. ET.
Pretty much everyone expects them to lower rates by a small amount—just 0.25%—bringing the key rate down to between 4% and 4.25%. This would be the first cut of the year, since prices aren't rising as fast anymore and the job market is cooling off
This cut is already priced into what investors are expecting.
Look for his words.... If the Fed sounds too cautious about future cuts (like saying "not so many more"), stocks might dip a tad. But overall, if things go as planned, expect the market to stay flat or even nudge higher—no big crash in sight.
Either way expect some big volatility until then. We saw that in Bitcoin thru the nite
