Bitcoiner Survey - Allocations (Patreon)
Content
Always pay attention to who’s being surveyed—it’s likely a group with heavy Bitcoin exposure, so interpret the results carefully. Nearly half (48%) of the 2,549 respondents said that Bitcoin makes up the majority of their crypto portfolio, underscoring its dominant role in retail investment strategies.
The most common approach (28%) is to hold Bitcoin as the core asset, supplemented by a smaller mix of altcoins. This shows that many view BTC as the foundation while still exploring opportunities in other tokens.
By contrast, traders and builders are about twice as likely as long-term investors to reduce their Bitcoin allocation, leaning more toward altcoins for higher-risk strategies. Meanwhile, newcomers in their first market cycle are nearly five times more likely to have no crypto portfolio at all.
