For me, this my second favourite episode from the whole series behind 3x16

Nathan

I also can’t wait to see your reaction to Nathan telling both Hayley and Jamie that he finally made it. It makes me cry every single time.

heather

Don’t spoil anything about S7!!! This episode makes me so emotional :( It’s one of my favs from the show tho! This finale wrapped up so beautifully! I’ll be back with a longer comment once I watch the reaction lol!

Asaunte
>>46457308

Idk if we should just let her find out at the premiere😳

Claudio Cristovao

This episode is so incredible!! There’s so much I want to say!!

Asaunte

I've been waiting to see your reaction to the Brooke and Victoria scene. It makes me cry

Rubi Moon

GUYS! Juli has requested not to know about the Season 7 thing. She knows there's a change coming, but not WHAT the change is. Please respect her request and DO NOT talk about the thing that happens in Season 7! You can talk about it in the Discord in the spoiler channel. If you aren't in the Discord, connect your Discord to your Patreon account by going here -> http://patreon.com/settings/apps

heather

A 2 hour long OTH reaction!!! Let me grab my snacks lol!!

Enzo

I feel like we did not talk enough of how brave Peyton was this season. She was able to let her fear of losing the baby go and share this fear with the people she loves, thing she could not do back then in S1 (when she locked up her room to have anyone in here) Having her happy ending, her own family, feels important and symbolic to me. I can’t even express the love I have for this character, she helped me a lot to fight my fear, to accept my complexity, my loneliness or to overcome all the pain life has to offer. I know there is a lot of people who identify to her character, to the pain she’s been through. But never forget that Peyton once said... someday all the pain that it took to get there, it just doesn’t matter anymore. Just have faith. ❤️

izzy

You're getting closer and closer to the end :((( Im not ready for this to end soon.

izzy

OTH is so good with season finales, I always say this but the writing omg I wish there were more shows like this today

Kayla

nathan making it into the nba will forever remain my favorite oth scene. not a love or ships scene. not a tragic scene. a scene full of happiness and accomplishment. it felt like it’s what we’ve been building to from day one finally came true. I personally really love season 7 even tho the start can be a bit rough to catch up to but in the end it’s an incredible season. My second favorite season overall.

izzy

does anyone notice that they recasted that guy who said "nate bobby wants to see you" as another character in s9 aka the cop. dont wanna say much but did anyone else notices that lmfao

sandrinegeller

Nathan making it to the NBA is one of the best moments of the show for me. His journey is one of the best storylines for this show and seeing him work so hard and finally have everything he's ever wanted is so beautiful.

Rubi Moon

One Tree Hill is one of the best shows to air this Century. And I believe that. There are shows that have really great moments and really great characters like Dynasty and Wynonna Earp, and they are truly great shows, but One Tree Hill is different. One Tree Hill doesn't rely on one singular character to take over the show. Obviously, Brooke is definitely seen as a main character, and I do believe she's the real main character of the show. But every single side character, one-off appearance, and main character has been treated as the way they should be, significant characters. From characters like Chris Keller to Tim to Bevins to Rachel to Skills to Mouth to Anna to Felix to Dan to even Xavier and Bobby. Every single character on this show is important. And that's something you don't see often. Every storyline in this show is treated with care even if maybe they're not the best storylines all the time, the characters still make it worth while and make it just so important. I feel like everyone can relate to at least one person in this show and even if it's not a perfect image of them, they still go through moments that we've all been through. That scene with Dan wanting to end his life and take away the pain is so impactful and so heartbreaking because of course no person starts out as this evil entity wanting to do evil things. It's the small things in life that truly change a person even someone like Jimmy. There's so much to this show that truly make it the great show that it is. And I can't wait for you to get into Season 7 and meet some certain new characters and I hope you do appreciate them, even if you don't personally like them. I think every character in this show matters whether we like them or not. Some characters we're meant to absolutely love and adore while others we're meant to hate but still have empathy for. I don't think there's really a character that is just pure evil. Even someone like Nanny Carrie is clearly broken from the loss of her son. And I guess the only characters that might be "pure evil" are Xavier and Psycho Derek. All of the others have moments where we can at least empathize and understand them even if they did bad things. It's what makes them all human and their flaws truly bring their characters to life. It doesn't matter who you ship or who you love and hate. I think everyone who truly watches this show can say that they love it. You can probably prove me wrong very easily, but my point is, this show isn't about a particular character or a particular ship. It's about EVERY thing. It's about LIFE. And living and learning and growing. People mess up. People cheat. People make mistakes. People lie. People do things that one day they'll end up regretting. And if you say you don't, you're lying. You can't live without failing. Sometimes it might feel like you're never going to succeed or you're never going to get better or you're never going to make it or you're set up for failure or you have a disadvantage, but you can work to change that. Maybe it's just not the right path. Maybe you just haven't met that person yet. Maybe you're never going to. But the thing is, there's no right way to live. Life is life. You're going to have moments of failure and moments of success. And I hope people can know that it DOES get better. Life DOES get better. And even though it might seem like it doesn't. I can promise you it does.

Enzo

Nathan freaking Scott always reminds us that we have to never give up on our dreams and hopes till we succeed. And he also reminds us that having a family or friends beside us is too important. That scene with Haley was emotional, the proudness in Haley’s eyes, woua,! You are in the NBA, Scott. ❤️

Enzo

I really love what you said at the end of your reaction and I’m so glad that the show has, in some ways, been able to help you processing with your emotions, to embrace them. And no matters every opinion we can have about the show, this show brought us together and I couldn’t be more grateful. This episode felt like a series final, the writing with this show is, in majority, a masterpiece. The next seasons will be really different but good and I want to reminder you that you never have to « change » your opinions just to satisfy us. Just share your opinion and it will be all okay for us !

Dydra Arnold

It was so great to see Whitey and Karen again. Seeing Lucas, Sawyer, and Peyton together melts my heart. She is such a cute baby. This episode was so well written and definitely could’ve been a series finally. Fantastic from beginning to end!

Dani

I agree that Naley is the ❤️of OTH.. Nathan making it to the NBA is still one of my favorite moments. I can't believe we're going into Season 7, this is going so fast Juli.. I'm ready!!

heather

Oh gosh, I’m crying again😭 Not just because of the episode, also because of what you said at the end of the reaction about how OTH is so important to you and how it’s there for you in a way. I feel the exact same way & I think that’s why OTH has such a strong, passionate fan base. Regardless of the ships and drama, this show give me so much happiness and is truly about life at the end of the day. We all make mistakes, learn, and grow from them, but that’s life. These characters show that to us & it’s easy to find yourself through at least one of the characters. For me, it’s Haley & I’m so glad you mentioned how she doesn’t really get as much of a storyline as the others. She’s usually just an extra piece to Nathan’s story, but I’ve always related to her the most. I just got so emotional about you expressing how much OTH helps you & I’m so glad that this show has brought us together & I’m able to rewatch it with you and have conversations with other people who love the show just as much as me!

Lucas

Jesusss who cut them onions! lmao......It's too joyful, for once it's incredibly emotional for everyone..You are right at the end of your reaction OTH means just SO MUCH....There's no other it's just.I watch a lot of show but there's so little that compares....This season finale- From Dan's arc being so tragic and bittersweet to such happiness everywhere, it's beautiful, Peyton and Lucas, and Nathan FULL CIRCLE fulfilling his dream and Haley, and Brooke and Julian-----I love all the characters so much! They are fictional but they mean just SO much! All the characters all of OTH it's just darn it man..The emotion omg overwhelming just as I remember it

Lucas

Now looking ahead, I will never spoil of course, still we'll find another OTH changed in slight ways, the show evolves and i'm totally here for it...It's the end of the second period of OTH, and we're entering in the last period spanning to season 9---Some things in the show are coming to an end that's all I will say...Other absolutely beautiful new things are coming our way, for me the show revamps but NEVER loses the essence of OTH and it's the best thing......

heather

Another long comment incoming: Ok so this finale is one of the best! The S4 finale also felt like it could be a series finale because it was the end of their high school lives, but this one just wrapped up perfectly & so many storylines ended beautifully. Nathan making it into the NBA is one of my fav moments of the show! Haley just being so proud of him, and Nathan telling her “we did it” is so touching. Nathan going to Q’s grave to tell him the news always makes me cry, any scene mentioning Q usually does. “You were right, it’s a comeback” Even though Q wasn’t in the show for long, he made a huge impact & his character has always stuck with me. Nathan’s comeback is my favorite storyline of the show I think because it’s been such a long time coming, but I was just patiently waiting for his dream to come true. I loved that he went to tell Whitey be made it! I agree that Naley is the heart of OTH. They’re my favorite ship of all time, so I’m a bit biased, but the amount of love they have for each other and how much they want each other to achieve their dreams is unmatched. No matter what they’re going though, they always come out stronger, and that’s why I love them so much! Leyton!!!! They’re not in my top ships, but they’re also an epic love of course! “Your art matters, it’s what got me here”, “It’s you” are just a few of their amazing quotes. Their love is so strong, sometimes they’ve hurt others just by standing in the way of it. What they did was wrong, but to me, it just shows that they were meant for each other. No one will come between Leyton lol! Lucas’ face while in the hospital was so heartbreaking! But her waking up to name the baby Sawyer was fitting :) Then them driving off in the comet together- I’m so glad they ending the season a happy family! I agree that Julian was a little annoying with the I love you, but it’s clear that they both love each other & they’re my second fav ship of OTH, so I’m biased, but their story is so beautiful & there’s so much more to come! Dan and Whitey’s scene was so touching!! Them hugging was such a powerful moment & also Dan holding Sawyer & saying to Peyton that he’s sorry that they’ll have to tell her about him someday broke my heart!! Victoria has a heart after all! Her conversation with Brooke... so amazing! She’s truly been a horrible mother to Brooke for basically her whole life, but the moment they shared in that scene was just beautiful. I wrote more than I planned, but anyways, I’m so excited for you start season 7!! Even though there’s a change, it’s one of my favorite seasons!!

Claudio Cristovao

This episode was a masterpiece and like you said could’ve very well been a series finale. It had so many heartbreaking and beautiful moments starting with Lucas taking a bloodied Peyton to the hospital, I loved seeing all the friends being there for them. Peyton waking up and naming the baby Sawyer was amazing as was seeing Karen entering the hospital room with the baby in her arm, and Peyton holding her baby in her arms for the first time. It was beautiful. I was so happy for Nathan, that moment he tells Haley he got into the NBA is just so epic and one of my favorites, this is what he’s fought for since the beginning of the series. I’m glad you brought up that Haley never really gets her own story, she’s mainly supporting. The Brooke/Victoria and later Brooke/Julian was fantastic. Victoria is human after all!! And I’m glad she finally melted the ice in her heart and was able to tell her daughter that she’s proud of her and that she loves her. And Brooke has been through such an amazing arc these past few seasons, it’s been amazing to watch. And of course she had to heal all the wounds caused by her mother for her to finally open her heart to love again and that moment with Julian at the end was beautiful but I wouldn’t have minded if she hadn’t said I love you either, it did feel like Julian and everyone else was pushing her. I felt kind of bad for Dan but he dug his own grave after shooting Keith and now he doesn’t get to participate in Lucas and Nathan's lives or be a part of his grandchildren's lives, he doesn’t get to celebrate Nathan getting into the NBA which is something that he’s always wanted or celebrate his new granddaughter or continue his beautiful relationship with Jamie that is now tarnished because he knows what he did. I love the end quote about believing in yourself and believing that your dreams can come true! That’s so One Tree Hill and so "Your Art Matters." Which basically defines this show!! Believing in yourself and your talent wether it be basketball, music, writing, fashion, film, journalism and sharing those dreams with your friends and family. The ending was just beautiful with Lucas and Peyton driving into the sunset with baby Sawyer.

On the Haley thing they kind of handcuffed her to Nathan when they got married early on. Where most of her stories have to have him involved somehow unless it relates to her career. Still a great character tho.

thisismaria27

I wanna say something important, so I'm saying sorry already for this being a long-ass post. Please read along anyways :) I know One Tree Hill means a lot to all of us. For some of us it's the show we grew up with, the show that helped us through our teenage years. For some it's a recent discovery of heart, soul and that undescribable feeling of being at home that OTH brings. Juli is a dear friend of mine and watching her love it as much as I do has brought me so much joy, as I think it does for all of you too. Sometimes I get too excited and tease her a little about the future episodes. But as I figured out yesterday that sometimes can dim the joy for her a little bc she prefers to be surprised by every little detail, not just the big stuff. So please out of respect for the show and her let us give her the space to enjoy it spoiler-free. If you want to discuss the spoilers, you can always connect your patreon to the discord and have discussions in the OTH-spoiler-section over there (trust me it's a very active and passionate channel). We enjoy Juli's reactions this much because she doesn't know what's going on and gets surprised along the way. And we were smart enough to keep some key moments secret (remember how nobody of us said anything about the shooting episode?), so please let's continue this on. She knows season 7 includes a big change and me trying to vaguely describe it has not helped explain it. So she will find out on her own and if necessary ask me or you guys about it afterwards. Thanks for all the love and support, I know it means a great deal to Juli and thus to me. Onto the very exciting season 7! :))

adilja
>>46461750

Agree with you.. Thanks for following the comments and trying to keep Juli from spoilers...

miah.sun

I'm so excited for season 7! Its such a change and I wonder how you're ganna take it. I'm personally okay with the change and love the show's revamp. :)

miah.sun

lol when you joked about re-watching the show. Any time I finish watching the show, going back to the beginning is so crazy. They are all so young and all so different. I've heard you say several times that you don't remember Nathan being that bad. So, it would be funny for you to skim the first episode and remember how bad he was lol.

miah.sun

I do think that there was a time jump in the episode. For sure a couple of months because that baby was old lol. So, it must have been some time before Brooke came to Julian. I personally feel that he was very patient with her. I mean she was the one who had to come after and get him. He left. He only came back for the wedding and then stayed a few days for Peyton. So, I think he left her alone and gave her the time and space she needed to come to realizations on her own in my opinion.

Ursula
>>46463907

For sure a time jump, based on Nathan as well. He got called up and had his debut in the same episode. He would have had to have a physical, doctors appointments and multiple training sessions with the team before his debut game. A few months at minimum.

Anna

Out of all the Naley scenes that are on this show, which is a lot, the NBA scene is probably one of my absolute favourite! Just everything about that scene makes my heart so happy. Nathan finally made this dream come true and Haley supporting him, such a beautiful moment. "Thank you for believing in me." "Thank you for being worth it." Naley really is the heart of this show. At least they are for me. Now on to Victoria. It was in this episode when I started to like her. That scene with Brooke was so beautifully done by both of them. And while I don't think Brooke is quite ready to let everything go and just forgive Victoria for treating her so horribly most of her life, this feels like a fresh start for them both. And the "You're my daughter, I'm so proud of you, I love you" part makes me so emotional every time. Oth has always been great at showing the developments in the characters and giving all of them layers and that's something I really appreciate. On this show there's never just one side of a character.

Anna

I don't always like the characters and stories, but One Tree Hill will always be my safe place, the show I run to when I just wanna escape the real world or whenever I just wanna feel better. Not one episode is boring and they do season finales like no other show. Even this one, where there wasn't a cliffhanger, was perfect from beginning to end. And that end quote, just wow!

Anna

"You told me someday I'd be ready to let someone in. I think today might be someday." Aww, Brulian, how i love them.

Kenzie8814

Hi Juli, I'm sorry to be a bother I'm kind of new to this patreon stuff. but I messaged you about your movie tier and I was wondering when you will be able to get back to me on that. No rush I was just wondering.- Thanks, Kenzie

Maria Quiros

Me encantó tu reacción, cuando sepas el cambio en la 7ma temporada, espero que averigües la historia que pasó detrás de esto, es muy triste que pasarán cosas tan terribles, para mí si fue un final de serie.

fry

okay but the acting! the acting on one tree hill is immaculate, Hilarie gets me every time and it’s not just because i’m in love with her, like damn even when she was on greys she did such a good job like wow. I expect brooke and peyton to kiss every time they have an intimate scene the chemistry is just🔥. I was waiting for the scene with Whitey, and the scene with Peyton and Dan, one of my favorite scenes, the fact that Peyton could have just said no and walked away, but she allowed Dan to have a few seconds of humanity was just beautiful

fry

the way the one tree hill writers said: we’re not creative enough to come up with baby names so let’s just name all the kids the mothers maiden name

Rubi Moon
>>46489611

XD funny thing is it’s actually pretty common for kids to get the maiden name as their first name.

Nathan

Thanks for making me emotional as hell during the review. Lol Jeez. But in all seriousness it’s so great that you’ve connect with this show in ways that I didn’t even think were possible for a newcomer. About Julian and everyone being pushy towards Brooke. Yes. The right thing to do would be for everyone to respect Brooke’s choice to open up her heart on her own terms. There’s no arguing that. But to what end? Everyone has watched Brooke self herself short for so long and be her own worst enemy. At what point should someone not be able to handle seeing her putting herself through this and speak up when they can obviously tell that she’s yet again running away from her heart? Sometimes the right thing to do isn’t always the best thing to. No one should force her to do anything she’s not ready to do but they should be able to tell her the truth as bluntly as they can, otherwise she’ll be afraid for the rest of her life.

fry

that was a beautiful ending, the music, the voiceover, everything damn oth kills it always

DylanWirta94

I found your One Tree Hill reactions earlier this year and once I joined the Patreon I was so happy to see how far ahead you were here. Season 6 still stands as my favorite adult season and my 3rd overall. It’s so damn good. I stumbled upon OTH on a rerun during middle/high school and it was 3x16. Not the best episode to see first because of spoilers but it grabbed me immediately and I’m so glad it did. Long story short, OTH means the same thing to me. It always brings me happiness, comfort and hope and so do your reactions. And I thank you for that. This show means so much to me and it makes me so happy it means so much to you as well. Can’t wait for season 7

Kayla
>>46460012

yess i agree with the haley statement which is why i love season 7 and 3 since i felt like we really explore her in these. she is MY GIRL especially since i feel like she get less love usually.

Peaches

Lucas and Peyton will be missed 🥺 #LEYTONFOREVER

Zeph 802
>>46573006

Don't Spoil it, delete this please. It may not seem like a big deal but we should let Juli go in with zero information.

Leora Nechama

I can't wait for the next 3 seasons. I really love that they finally allow Brooke's story to be at the forefront. I feel like Leyton's drama always overshadowed her, and now we really get to see Brooke shine and get a love story of her own that is just as epic as the love she's been watching her friends experience for 6 seasons.

Leora Nechama

The Naley scene when he tells her he's in the NBA always makes me cry. I love seeing Whitey!!! I missed him so much! I love that Nathan went to tell him he made the NBA. I kind of get mad that Peyton let Dan hold Sawyer. Imagine how Lucas and Karen would feel. Sawyer would have been Keith's grandson in every way that matters. Brulian getting back together was so cute!! I love them and I love how even though they weren't together he was there for her when Peyton was in the hospital.

Patricia Bressan

That jump into Nathan's arms that Haley did wasn't on the script!!!!

Nikki S

I would die for Brooke Davis!!!!

Nikki S

I cried SOOOO HARD this entire episode happy and sad tears that I can’t even breathe out of my nose and I have tissues everywhere lol.
