Ngl I still struggle with liking Dan's character sometimes. Like he has his redeeming qualities and he occasionally shines but more often than not he grates on me - like here for example he just comes off as ungrateful and barely acknowledges his special treatment. I realise that 1000 years is a long time and maybe he expressed gratitude before but it's all about what Lucifer can do for him even though he hated on Lucifer for most of the show even when it wasn't deserved. Don't get me wrong, I cried when he died but I think I was more upset on behalf of the other characters from empathising their grief... 😬

He hated on him because he fundamentally misunderstood who Lucifer was (the ACTUAL devil) and what his motivations were, and because Lucifer liked to poke the grizzly bear for a reaction, which I get was annoying as hell (pun intended). But even later on he blamed Lucifer for things like that young cop's death and Charlotte's death, when it wasn't justified, and still couldn't see how much Lucifer cared about Chloe because he didn't want to. He acted like Lucifer was an idiot even after working directly with him and seeing how valuable his contributions could be. And Dan was a hypocrite...so, yeah I get he didn't love the man but I still found his attitude annoying.
