I felt so bad for Mason this episode. He didn't even start the war and end up getting killed for trying to protect himself and others. I felt bad for Tyler when his mom told him "he went back to Florida". He looked so hurt, having another man in his life leave. I freaking love vampire Caroline, she's the best!! Elena is so annoying. She kept telling Stefan to keep up with the "fight" and not look at each other and be around each other, yet she was the one being clingy and not letting Stefan do anything without her. Damon, ahhhh. Once again made a really dumb mistake of provoking Katherine when he should have left her alone. He's such an idiot!! 😭🤦🏾‍♀️ I'm glad Stefan and Damon are working together and getting along. Vampire Diaries is so much better to me, when they're both on the same page with each other.

to answer if katherine could compel mason no she can’t, vampires can’t compel other supernatural creatures for ex: bonnie can’t be compelled because she’s a witch but early in season one tyler was compelled and that’s because even though he has the werewolf gene he hasn’t broken the curse so he is still human.

Bonnie constantly disappearing from episodes because they just didn’t want to write for her til they needed her powers was one of my biggest gripes during the first few seasons. That’s all it is Don. When other characters are going through a relationship riff they still keep them in the story somehow doing other things, but noooo not Bonnie.

She didn’t have “consistent stupidity”. She was understandably judgmental because almost immediately after finding out about being a witch, she finds out the hard way that vampires also exist and have a bloody history of using and abusing witches like her for their powers, as well as humans, and this includes the event that lead to her Grams’ death. Her Grams who was the only person who prioritized her wellbeing and teaching her. The same way Elena gets grace when she gets frustrated by this life, Bonnie should even more so because of the responsibility put on her.

Stefan always seems to miss when others are being uncooperative or bi***y to Damon but is always present when he returns their crap with his own snarkiness. Also, Caroline talking to her mom is not the only time where it has been explained or shown that a vampire's nature is to kill, yet everyone still acts like Damon is just a fringe problem vampire for behaving his species!
