It sounded at the end like you were saying you never saw The Addams Family movies? They are worth watching, when you have the time to react to more movies. They provide some context to this series that you are otherwise missing. The snapping of the fingers. The head of the rose cut off. Thing and Lurch. Wednesday talking about using a guillotine to remove her dolls' heads. The context for that and more is provided by the ORIGINAL 1960s Addams Family series. It was before my time, but I got to see it all through reruns and then modern streaming. How the original series would play these days to a modern audience, I can't say, and it would be upsetting to several of your Patreons to take on yet another series before others are completed, so I wouldn't advise it now. But if one day in the future, you are willing to watch the 2 seasons (64 episodes total) of a black-and-white show from the 1960s, The Addams Family is a lot of fun. It dared to go where other shows of that era were afraid, more akin to Dark Shadows (though with humour instead of drama) than to Leave it to Beaver and The Brady Bunch. But that's an American comparison. In British series terms, that's sort of like comparing The Young Ones to The Good Life. Sort of.
